Fiberfab Bonito Project
Based on a 1970 VW beetle chassis and V5 - Tax Exempt
V5 in my name, new style, currently SORN. Reciepts for majority of work done on chassis/engine.
1st pic is last time it was on the road / mot'd .
A RARE opportunity to buy a FIBERFAB BONITO kitcar in the UK. This is a project of mine I'm reluctantly offering for sale due to moving house, it is currently partly restored and needs completing by the buyer. This means you can finish it to your own style, colour, interior etc.
Chassis has been refurbished with new floor pans, brake master cylinder, rebuilt pedals, brake lines and hoses, brake discs, bearings, track rods, ball joints, suspension rubbers and so on. The chassis has been painted and protected in chassis black.
It is rolling on 14" turbovec alloys on the front and a deeper 15" turbovecs on the rear. These are fine for now, but will require a refurbish when the car is finished.
The engine is Type3, rebuilt with new 1641cc pistons/cylinders, new seals and gaskets. It has a new clutch to suit the beetle type 1 gearbox. It is dual carb, twin port engine. It is filled with oil and no leaks, new push rod tubes etc. Type 3 cooling is said to be better than the upright beetle cooling. There is no exhaust or heat exchanges, the buyer can decide if they want to run heat exchanges or not and what style exhaust.
The body is complete with doors, bonnet boot and glass. The car comes with the plexi headlight covers. The body is good, no major cracks or crazing. It will require some work in places and depending if you modify any lights etc. It will polish up nicely as you can see in photo number 6 - hand polished with g3 compound. Some areas will need painting after filling holes etc.
There is no interior (no seats, seat belts etc) other than a fiberglass centre console. There is also no wiring harness, but I do have a car builder solutions kit to get you started. It is carpeted black on the rear part of the body (as seen through rear screen) and has a black headlining/pillars. There is part of a dashboard still in the vehicle but I was going to replace so never done anything with it.
The car is rolling and steering, but the steering column isn't connected. It will be able to be man handled onto a trailer or truck for collection. The brakes haven't been bled yet.

Price dropped to SOLD . Selling due to split with partner and selling house.
Not really looking for offers alot less, id rather keep it and put it in storage.

That's a really nice looking kit and looks just right in that shade of red, I'd never heard of FiberFab but just googling them they did some really handsome kits as well as some other way out stuff. GLWS.
