Hi folks
Time to move my Bluebird to a new home. I bought this in May with a failed head gasket, so it's had the head off for a skim and for the valves to be reseated. Went back together nicely, had new timing belt, water pump and tensioner at the same time. It's not perfect, with some lacquer peel on the offside rear wing and scuffed bumpers from its London life - only one previous owner!
I've just taken it on a 1117-mile trek that included the Oh So Retro meet in Kent. Had to bypass the fuel filter (which I stupidly forgot to change) but will get a new one fitted. Dashboard has some cracks to it, but everything works (4x electric windows, sunroof, central locking, power steering). Clutch bite is high, but it isn't slipping and a full clutch kit is included in sale.
The body is very sound indeed, with immaculate rear arches and no signs of corrosion underneath. Exhaust looks new, tyres are brand new Blockley items (slightly wider 185/70 R15 - I've become a modifier!), dampers are brand new KYB gas units. In short then, a bit of a fixer-upper that you can use straight away.
Asking £600, which I think is realistic given it's potential. It's certainly a lot less than I've spent on it...
May be able to do a deal on delivery given my location - west Wales. If you've got some spare time, feel free to wade through the many videos about this car on my channel at: www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL54-PwTtwEP7bNESowNbItMr5YuYZhRf7
Car has also been featured as a staff car in Retro Japanese magazine.
Only for sale as I have a 1990 Proton Aeroback that I'm eager to get sorted. Yes, that's the sort of man I am.
