So, need to get my XJR to a new home. I use it daily as my family car, but have no time to tinker at all at the moment, hence the sale. It has a brand new Lucas alternator, and I've recently re-attached the headlining. I've also re-commissioned the in-car phone because..well, in car phone. It's on Vodaphone and works a charm.
It has staggered XKR alloys and has been modified bu Paramount Performance. It has a full stainless exhaust system, a performance air intake, a 10% smaller top supercharger pulley and the ECU was re-mapped. There is a dyno sheet that shows 386bhp, but there is also a Paramount Performance plaque in the boot shut that states 401bhp. Either way; it's ridiculously, unnecessarily, blisteringly quick
It has a Romano high performance (over 500bhp capable) LPG system with all of the accompanying paperwork. I took it to a local LPG specialist who said it was a high quality kit, that's been very well fitted. It has had the walnut swapped for piano black, but the original wood is included. The original wood has a period SatNav system fitted. It has a heated screen and heated seats, along with the premium Alpine sound system that includes a sub on the parcel shelf. The air con is cold.
It has very recently had the gearbox serviced and changes very smoothly.
Being a Y reg, it has the steel lined engine, and it has also had the chocolate timing chain tensioners swapped for steel.
It has a 70 litre spare wheel tank so the boot is still full size, and I've just replaced three lpg cap in the bumper. It also has perfectly functioning rear parking sensors.
It's returning the equivalent of over 30mpg, is cheap to insure with Brentacre, and has 400bhp... it's quite the motor. Why sell it then? It needs some bits sorting, and i haven't got any time to a start. I barely have time to write this ad!
There is some rust in the common spots in the inner wings that'll need sorting before the MoT. The exhaust is blowing a bit at the joints, i reckon it'd benefit from taking it off and refitting it. Still sounds brilliant (see vid). It misses when it's cold but smooths out 2 minutes up the road. I've not even had time to change the plugs! I'm not sure what it is, my friend checked the compression and said all cylinders were ok, with one being slightly down on the rest but not enough to cause a problem. He thinks it could be the water temp sensor but I just need to pass it to someone who has time to play. As said, 2 minutes up the road and you wouldn't know. It switches to LPG well and I drive it about on LPG fine but if you properly full-throttle boot it, it switches back to petrol. I think the injectors are partially blocked - the specialist said you can get cleaner to pump into the line for 15 quid on eBay that clear lpg injectors really well. See previous comment on tinkering time, though!
It comes with two working fobs, linked to the seat memory, so if you open it witg fob 2, the seat moves into position 2 - fancy!
It has 160k on it and it's MoTd right up to August 2018. Have some rocket ship v8 fun for a year and get shut, or work through it's flaws and have an absolute diamond at the end. Up to you!
