Hi all,
I'm going to be selling my 106 S1 Rallye soon and writing this in case there are those out there with the "oh I'd quite like a Rallye" mindset. Need to get it cleaned and wheels swapped over - It has a current MOT Though is SORN currently.
The car has done 120k with a replacement correct s1 engine installed last year at great cost to the previous owner. I've got receipts for about £1300 spent in 2017 on the car. Loads and load of paperwork with the car, huge folder. I have the original engine also - it needs a new piston.
It's completely standard, apart from a fast road cam, exhaust, strut brace and slight lowering. All the interior is there, all of it.
I recently had the immobilizer certificate tested and an alarm removed from the car at great cost - required for insurance.
The bodywork has a few dings but it is extremely good - all the normal rusting/rotting points are not present on this car.
It's on a set of speedlines at the moment, though I've bought a set of original steel wheels and semi race yoko tyres.
Prior to me buying the car, the car was in dry storage for 7 years as part of a 10 year ownership on the last owner.
Why am I selling - I had one when I was about 19 and wanted another; it's great, it really is but I think my 8500rpm around the corner lift of overseer days are in the past!! I own other cars and they suit me better, along with time being shorter than it once was. I think I did 150 miles in one of my other toys last year, another didn't move at all. It's in a garage at the moment.
Photos to follow - drop me a PM if you are interested and I'd be happy to discuss the car on the phone.
Please, no time wasters - I'd like to think someone who views this would really want this specific model car, they are rare and though you read in so many adverts these days 'future investment/classic', I think it's fair to say this will be. I would consider a PX - I've always fancied a Mercedes SEC, Old Toyota Hilux 4x4 maybe.
