Hmmm, this thread will either be a roaring success or a huge failure, but you gotta have a go!
Right then, to the point.
Lets see the scrap yard finds, the ones that have been left to rot, the ones on driveways that you want to buy but owners won't let you.
I'll stick some up when I get home, damn work pc won't let me.

When I used to commute to uni in my mini, every day I passed a house with an open-fronted barn beside it. Sitting there was a tidy-enough looking mkII escort 3-door. it NEVER moved. years passed and it still never moved. I knocked the door once and the chap was pleasant enough but said it wasnt for sale as he wanted to restore it himself when he had the time. Years passed and it still never moved. I went back a few times, and got a few friends to ask in my place over these years but he always said it wasnt for sale. Seemingly the dude died and his wife had a scrappy take it away.
Also, when I was quite young (maybe 12 or 13) and not yet into cars, my grandparents lived on a TINY wee island in the Outer Hebridies - think "craggy Island" from Father Ted. Anyway, as there was no garage on the island, all cars were exempt from MOT`s as the nearest testing station was an 8 hour ferry ride away. My Grandad toured about in a selection of what would be regarded here as awesome cars. A few big yank saloons, a Toyota Cressida, (he had a running one and two others in the garden for spares) some other big J saloons I cant remember, a Montego MG turbo, An Austin Healey of some description, a few minis including a pickup AND a van and a mkII escort rs2000. once cars reached the end of their usefullness, everyone just dumped them at the bottom of their gardens for parts. One day he had a massive cull and got a guy to take away all these old cars. The guy took what parts he thought were useable and the rest got shoved into the sea!
One day I will go back there for a holiday and see what I can find lying about as there is bound to still be some cool stuff there.

... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.

There used to be an HS Chevette down the side of a house in Bergholt. I tried on numerous occasions to get hold of the owner, knocking and leaving notes on it to no avail. However, one of my brothers did get hold of him. He said it was his brothers, who was abroad somewhere, but he might sell it for £800. It was fairly complete but had been in grass and nettles up to the door handles for ? years and the footwells were inches deep in water! I thought that was a touch rich as the shell was scrap along with the interior and god knows if it even turned over. But I kept an eye on it and kept knocking on the door (never an answer ) but one day it just disappeared. Anyway, wrecks currently at my dads works include; 3 Mini pick ups VW Caddy Tidy LWB Defender pick up (up for grabs I think) Various Range Rovers in various states 3 6 series Bimmers Couple of E30 325s' Triumpth 2500 pi wagon Mazda 323 turbo 4x4 Modded Moggy Minor Grass track Mini Datsun 100A I think thats all of them, some could be had but others, namely the Moggy and Triumpth, they just won't part with. Anyway, to the pics; Some courtesy of Slater; retrorides.proboards86.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1169320575&page=1These by my own fair hand I've whored them out on a couple of occasions, but what the hell!! ;D

Hows about this little lot, about 30 truck sin total some very old old stuff from the 60's all been sat doing nothing since the M62 was finished.... Will the owner even let me in to take pictures.... No way .... shame More here www.annteak.com/images/quarry/index.htmlI know the place! Unfortunately, the owner wasn't about when I went to enquire about pictures. To my discredit, I went with the "shimmy over the fence first, ask questions later" approach. Shameful, but did yield some good pics. As can be seen here.Another site with abandoned tractors and vans I saw can be seen here. I genuinely thought this land was ownerless, and my insider at the land registry thought the same. Alas, 3rd time I went I royally p***ed off the landowner. So OK, I tresspassed again, but in error this time. And finally, a selection of cars I didn't have to break civil laws to obtain photos of. ;D

Here's a thread with some on the family farm. Wow Rob, someone in you family really loves P6's then! They sure do! Dad's got most of them and my aunt has a few too. Dez, I'll find out. It's been in those bushes longer than I've been in existence though.
