It wasn;t in that spot for long, last taxed in 1989, the garage around the corner said it appeared over a weekend, they reckon it was fly-tipped into that spot! Wow! I didn't think vehicles were fly-tipped anymore. You'd get £200 just weighing it in.

The house was pretty overgrown and is on a very posh street where houses go for millions, there was a Peugeot 205 special edition of some kind also there until recently but its 'disapperaed' now..... Owner probably taken into care at a cost of God knows how much to their estate.

Heres a few more taken in London over the last year or so, the MG Maestro had no plates and looked like it had been in that spot for years! I quite fancy that, although no doubt sorting the electrics out would drive you insane!

I quite fancy that, although no doubt sorting the electrics out would drive you insane! The pre 2000 vehicles are simpler on the electrics than those after 2000. After owning, using & fixing a few post 2000 I can back that up! The only realproblmI had with the Meastros were when the ignition spring goes no quick fix or easy replacement.

Ignition spring? Which part(s) are you referring to, out of interest?

Ignition spring? Which part(s) are you referring to, out of interest? The spring to return the ignition key to the run position from starting. Mother went through a few starters before I talked her into letting me replace it than go through another starter motor.

Incredible isn't it? That Rover SD1 was only used for 10 years before being parked up in 1988 and just left there for 33 years now! It's remarkable that there's anything left of it, yet it still looks superficially quite solid and even has air in the tyres - would probably make a great project for someone...

A good battery and possibly some brake cleaner down the inlet manifold and it should fire straight up.

Are you pumping the tyres up ready to drive it away? Tyres got pumped up but engine was missing the battery cables and alternator so just dragged it out before it's final journey to the crusher. My foot went through the floor when I climbed in!

My first contribution to this wonderful thread I had a couple of hours to kill in the early hours in my childhood area so what else to do than wander round car dealers forecourts I know the guy and know he has some 'old stock' but was shocked at the quantity I only took one pic as shown. In fairness most of my collection (past and present) deserves to be in this thread however I have resisted thus far
