Welcome to the listing for my BMW 530 Diesel Estate in Silver.
I purchased this car because I was interested in using the Webasto heater in a long distance van project I am working on. However my mechanic said that the heater would be unsuitable for such application, so it never happened. I decided to just insure and use the car for awhile, since it was really in nice condition, and my only other vehicle is a large van - not too practicle
So, this is a 3.0 L Diesel. with automatic gear box, it has the manual shift points if you wish. It's high mileage at 193.xxx however it has service stamps in the book until around 180k~ if i remember correctly. It has MOT until September 2018 with only minor advisories;
Advisory notice item(s)
front to rear brake pipes covered with under seal
both rear inner sills have traces of body filler and covered with under seal
under trays fitted
sill covers fitted
engine covers fitted
I'll start with the bad bits as there's not a lot;
- There's a minor bit of rust around the nearside and offside rear arches, it really is minor and i believe would be fairly easy to fix. and also a little on the tailgate.
- The parking sensors sometimes have a mind of their own, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. I have not investigated.
- While it's been 100% reliable for me, once i went to start it, and it was just turning over without firing up. I called my mechanic and as soon as I said 530D he said just spray a little WD40 into the intake and it will be fine. I have no idea what the real cause of this problem is, however it did fix it, I assume this is a common problem on these? since he didn't even flinch as soon as i mentioned the model he knew exactly what the problem was. I will look into this and see what i can find.
The good bits;
- The body apart from the minor rust, is very tidy and straight, there's minor scratches but overall she's really presentable and looks great in my opinion.
- The interior is in really excellent condition, I think it must have been swapped out at some point, because there's no bolster wear or anything. the leather is in immaculate unmarked condition, even the driver's seat. also it has (I'm told) real carbon fiber "AC SCHNITZER" trim, with M sport steering wheel. carpets are also in beautiful condition.
- Drives spot on from what I can tell, pulls well through all gears, the manual mode works just fine too. I haven't done that many miles yet but doesn't seem to be using any fluids. all warning lights come on, and turn off when engines starts, as they should.
- Wheels also in great condition, there's no rust or even curbing, with plenty of tread on the tires also.
- All the usual 5 series refinements, x4 electric windows, electric sunroof, electrically adjustable mirrors, rear tailgate wiper working. 6 CD changer, dual climate control all working as they should.
I think if you got the minor rust fixed it would be a very smart thing, and in my opinion looks and fits in place with modern day executive cars, also has a towbar
The car is located in Tamworth, Staffordshire, viewing welcome at any time, but by appointment only. I work on call, self employed. So I can be very flexible for viewings, however having to miss work i get a bit annoyed if someone doesn't show up when i've taken time off work for that.
If you need any extra information or anything you can call or text me on 07954 522 146
