Saturday Night is Race Night (Friday Night practice & Film)

For the first time in a few years I have a pass to camp, and since its a stones throw from my house I thought I'd go all out with "stuff". Those at Haynes may remember the Cinema, this was quite popular so will be recreated.
I'm also planning on bringing my wooden oval slot car track. This will be available for playing with, but I'd also like to run a more "formal" competition. The SFB Trophy will have a booking in fee for drivers (£3?) the funds raised will go into the same pot as Kev (from Wales) 's tat auction and be donated to a worthy cause.

I'll have the cars and controllers so all competitors will need to do is rock up and drive (keeping an eye on heats for your next race). It's a four lane track, each driver will race on each of the four lanes - so there is no lane or car advantage.

Look for my big green tent that will be in the vacinity of the TAB collective. The track could be at a more central location on Saturday :-)

Robin with no dialogue, but really loud effects. :-) I think the other was Two Lane Black Top.

I've learnt what dvd codecs are since then.

Slight change of plan - I'm going to run the SFB Trophy on Saturday Night. £3 donation to race.

Race Format as above, 3min heats, Each driver will race on each of the four lanes. 30 drivers means 30 heats or 1.5hours of racing + changeover + fixing cars - if we do well enough to get more than that then I'll drop the race time down to 2 or 2.5 min so that it doesn't get too tedious!

Racers from the last heat will marshal the next. Only Marshals to touch the cars.

If you are keen, can you add your name below, and I'll get you entered into the computer beforehand so that it doesn't have to be all done there and then.
