I'm Selling up my Suzuki Vitara as I'm not using it enough for it's intended purpose (green laning, camping and off roading).
The Important Stuff
12 Months MOT, only advisory was grease on the brake lines (the car gets a liberal coat of Waxoil once a year)
98,626 miles on the clock and will rise. It is driven at least once a week on a round trip of 50 miles
1.6 8V Engine with all new gaskets and seals on the head
Electric windows, electric mirrors, power steering and central locking
The Upgrades
5.12 ring and pinons in front a rear differentials
31" tyres fitted to 15x8 Fat Boy alloys (Insa Turbo copies with loads of tread)
Landrover defender arches fitted with all stainless hardwear
Steel box section bumpers clad in the original plastics
Rear 4 pin diff locked by welding every two teeth of the spider gears
2" Bits4Vits body lift kit
Bits4Vits rear recovery bar with D shackles and towball central recovery point
Rough County extra long rear shocks with extended upper mounts
Fuel tank lifted to above chassis rails to increase ground clearance and take advantage of the body lift
Bits4Vits rear axle ball joint spacer (this allows the rear to articulate further)
Rear arches tubbed to accommodate the larger wheels
Bits4Vits steel front skid plate and cross member
Front anti roll bar removed
Leather heated seats (not wired in) with height and lumber support
Headlights run through relays for high and low beam (takes the load of the stalks and is ready for spots/light bar)
Claxon Horn
Flat bottom "sports" steering wheel
History
During my ownership I have replaced;
Clutch and release bearing
Cambelt and tensioners
Front & rear crank seals
Gaskets and seals on the head
Front pulley and woodruff key (common fault that kills the front oil seal if not changed)
All fluids and filters in the last 2000 miles (all
Rebuilt front calipers with new pistons and seals from Big Red
New Battery
Conclusion
This is a great little off roader that will go further than a Landrover and costs less to own. It always starts first time and has been ultra reliable. The single point fuel injection means it is simple enough to be robust but modern enough to not need constant fiddling. I have always kept the car with the intention of doing a few more long road trips and the maintenance has reflected this. I wont be entertaining any silly low ball offers so please don't send me any. I'm available evenings and weekends in the WR12 area and if your really keen/polite there is a green lane about a mile from my house that I'm happy to take you down to show off the car.
Cheers!
