Thanks for looking!
Bought on a slightly tipsy whim, sight unseen, from an old friend as I have a real soft spot for Merc wagons (that's my S204 and I had an S202 before it). When it was delivered though I realised it needs more love and affection that I can spare, what with three older classics all needing work..
Off the road since 02/2017 so will need recommissioning if you intend to put it back on the road, or a great parts car - I did contemplate breaking it for spares but again time is against me.
Please see photos for general condition - the car had just been given a quick clean but is dry in the pics. Any inspection welcome and recommended, but from my brief test drive I picked up the following issues;
Battery is dead.
Nearside wing rusted through.
Back box holed.
E-brake weak.
Cruise control hesitates.
Knock from rear (ARB..?)
Centre prop bearing knock.
Tyres have slight flat spots.
Air con does not blow cold.
One key.
Otherwise starts, runs and stops just fine. Engine runs smoothly, though I noticed once the tick-over was a little high but fine on another day, and the gearbox shifts smoothly too. Central locking, electric tilt/slide sunroof and electric windows all work well. Nice seven-seat option in grey leather with only minimal wear on driver's bolster. Private plate included.
Mileage approx 248,800. I have a printed service sheet showing history from 24/06/94 to 10/06/13 at 228,810 miles, which includes an entry on 19/09/10 at 225,665 miles pertaining to a 'rewire' which I'm told is the under-bonnet loom which is prone to fail on these. A smattering of invoices since.
Car is stored at my workshop near Ely. I live in Bury St Edmunds so viewings can only be done at weekends by prior arrangement, sorry.
Car has plenty going for it and I'm just looking to get back what I paid, hence £600.
