Anyone have any good ideas for sending a car bonnet?
I bought one on eBay, it’s near Cambridge and I need to move it to either Brighton or near Ashford in Kent.
Shiply has quoted big prices as usual and couriers have them on thier restricted items list.
Anyone have any ideas?
I can’t go get it unfortunately otherwise I would be straight up there.

I’ll be easier and cost you less to just jump up and down on it a bit yourself rather than getting a courier to do it.
Very much on the ‘don’t even bother’ list. Only possible exception is if you can get a Shiply guy to do it, but getting a good guy on there is also a hassle these days.

Hard to imagine most sellers thinking properly how you would have to pack it in order to guarantee no damage occurring in transit. Just go and get it yourself.

cambridge to ashford, 2 hours each way, 100 miles, 2-3 gallons each way. rough guess at £35 of fuel tops unless you have something especially thirsty.
I'd just go and get it or send a mate for it tbh.

thanks for the replies, I checked out direct courier solutions, who wouldn't send either but when I called stated they could but it wouldn't be compensated if damaged
the other couriers will send it turns out but on the same basis, that they won't compensate, so have asked matey sender to do this, although he hasn't replied about it yet, so may need to find another way.
I did look at getting it myself but the cost according to a mpg calculator was this
Total fuel cost: £61.62 Gallons of fuel: 10.14 Litres of fuel: 46.10 Mileage: 284 mile(s) Fuel type: Super unleaded Fuel price used for this calculation: 133.67 pence per litre Mpg used for this calculation: 28 mpg
unfortunately my car sucks for mpg since its a bit pokey.
other option I have is asking parents nicely if I can borrow their car, they constantly bang on about how good the fuel consumption is so might be a good way to test the theory. on the mpg calculator it comes in at less than £30
