I love this car and what you're doing with it Phil. I watched your video and thought how fab it is inside and out, a real festival of Americana with everything just so pleasing on the eye.
Oh to be wafting along the back roads of America on a summer's day with the windows down and not a care in the world...

Hot damn. The weather got real bad. Temperature dropped from 64 to 36 in about 2 minutes. (15 to 3 in metricity) Heavy rain and there's sleet on the way. It was just about nice and warm and dry too. Ugh. Phil Could be worse Phil, it could be Texas.

Something silly tonight. Brand new end on the exhaust, got fed up of blowing sooty marks all over the concrete. Manifold to downpipe join is blowing pretty bad, need to look at that. Phil

Enjoyed your video Phil. Your accent: somewhere between London and Bristol? I’m likely incorrect and hopefully not offensive.
Long winter up here in Connecticut, too.
Best, John

Long winter up here in Connecticut, too. Best, John What's winter? We get it for two days a year. Sometimes it gets to single digits centigrade.

Exhaust leak sorted. Two of the nuts that hold the flange together had fallen off.
Replaced them and done them up really tight (guessing last time wasn't tight enough).
Oops.

Just bumped into this guy, who got his Oldsmobile on the road again. Nice to see it on the highway!

Hallmark day today. The first car you ever drive might as well be a memorable one. Phil

So far so good. It's doing duties as Car quite well, to and from work and to the store and back. It's actually coming up due service. Phil

I got the photos back that I shot with my 35mm. First thing in the morning, getting used to the camera again by taking some pictures in the garage. This is the only one that came out. Out on the road, LA Hwy 307 in the mist. Shane there was so much traffic that morning, I didn't have time to take more pictures. I like cars that you can sit on. Sunset at the baseball field. Bridge and bayou, silhouetted in the sunset. Last picture of the evening, last picture on the roll. Twilight with the bridge in the background. Phil

That last evening photo is wonderful.
The way film deals with light like that is beautiful. Not to mention the grain and the bokeh. Modern DSLRs can go a lot way to imitate the look, but it's hard to beat the real thing sometimes.

Modern DSLRs can go a lot way to imitate the look, but it's hard to beat the real thing sometimes. Artifacting due to the lens is also... hard to recreate. Zoom lens, low light, moderate exposure. Aloe flower, medium depth of focus. I need to go do some "city lights" style photos, but that involves being in proximity to city lights. Phil

Spring cleaning day. Today started with me looking at the wheels and deciding they were a bit too dirty. I got the cleaning stuff out and set to. Also to mention it's 28 degrees outside today in the shade. Sweaty. That's the wheels and tires scrubbed up. Now the rest of the car looks dirty. Hour or so later, and it's looking much more presentable. Now inside in the cool, lamenting the lack of beer. Phil
