I have a fiat ducato 2.5 turbo diesel left hand drive. Engine code 8140.27. Engine is dead so need a replacement. What other engine will more or less drop in as finding an 8140.27 is hard work. Would an iveco or renault 8140.27 Just drop straight in?
Thanks in advance

It's the same engine.

yeah, they're Sofim engines, you may well need to swap sumps oil fillers and manifolds but with the same engine code I'd imagine it'll bolt in with a little tinkering.

And I won't sit down. And I won't shut up. And most of all I will not grow up.

The only thing you have to watch for is most rwd configuration blocks don’t have the bosses drilled for the driveshaft bearing carrier that fwd setups use. Other than that pretty much everything interchanges between blocks, but ancillaries vary quite a lot by application so you’ll need to keep your ones and swap them over.

The 2.8 is almost identical too.

Whether you believe you can, or you cannot, you're probably right.
