Bought this a few months ago and I am astonished at how good of a condition she is. 2 Owners, completely original including all paperwork and history and only 18K on the clock. It even has the original tools, spare bulb and fuse kits and key rings! Sailed though the last MOT in November with no advisories. Not many of these left now, I believe this is most likely the lowest millage example in the UK.

I've always really liked these, thought they'd make an excellent choice for a slammed yet tidy motor, whats the plan with it ?

Might be the lowest millage example in the world. Your car has done about 782 miles per year. I like this a lot. I like that it is more or less a new old car. Something to be very proud of. I hope (but it's your car of course) that what ever you do to it, it can be brought back to original without to much work preserving the now uniqueness of this car..

They are nice cars. I run 4, 2 manuals, 2 autos- 2 minters, 2 dailies. None are as low mileage as yours.
Surprisingly, they all feel different to drive, the higher the mileage the looser/ freer/ higher revving the engine.
Unbelievably reliable, comfortable, capable of distance at or on the speed limit, I think you’ll really enjoy yours.
My only alterations from standard? Slightly larger 3 spokes on the manuals. Better cruising and mpg, whilst retaining acceleration.
Hav3 fun!

Not seen one of these in years, it’s mostly Mk2 Cavalier underpinnings isn’t it?

I'm sure you could squeeze a Vauxhall red top under the bonnet.

Thanks for your comments guys.
Currently the car is now tucked up for the winter as these things rust like crazy. The original idea was to use this as my daily but I couldn't bring myself to add 400+ miles a week to it. The plan with it now is to fix some of the little issues with it, the main one is that the battery doesn't charge! It's my own fault, the alternator went after 3 weeks so I got a new one and fitted it but it's such a fiddly job I ended up breaking a wire in the loom as you have to pass it down the back of the engine. I didn't know i'd done this for a spell so after yet another alternator and battery I've finally tracked it to the loom somewhere. So fixing this will be the first job.
I need to get two dents taken out one from the rear quarter where the lovely neighbors kids decided to use it as a bike leaning post. The other is in the passenger door where it's slightly creased if you look down the line of the car and being a perfectionist it bugs the hell out of me!
Other than that, and the electric Ariel which needs taking apart and refurbishing as it makes all sorts of weird clicking and grinding noises that's it.
Modification wise, I don't plan on doing anything major to it at present. It's got an upgraded stereo and I've upgraded the lights all around from candles to modern bulbs. There's not a lot of parts for it, even though it's based on a 1980's Mk 2 Caviler.
I have thought about a red top conversion however...
It's such a great car to drive and super comfortable. I picked it up from South end and drove back to South Wales non stop which was a joy.
I'm looking forward to taking her to a few shows next year & many years of ownership.
