Through unfortunate circumstances the time has come to sell my 2010 Audi A8 4.2 TDI quattro sport, it has a few optional extras too inc 20" wheels. The car has 93k miles, new mot, its in very good condition, had a major service Aug last year, 4 new goodyear tyres, new front brake pads. No faults whatsoever and i can safely say every electronic device, function works. Now the bad, all the alloys are in poor condition due to my clumsy driving. My plan was to sell the car as it is but i was wondering if you guys think its worth spending the money on getting the wheels refurbed, i thought if i did they would not look oem any more but they are badly scuffed. Whats your thoughts? A while back i reversed into a steel rail when i was parking, you can see a small dent in my rear bumper and a larger dent in my boot lid. I never bother claiming for the repairs as my excess was £400 and i thought i might do the repairs by paying for it myself. So is it worth trying to fix or patch or disguise either of the dents in any way? My car is quite rare because it has the 4.2tdi v8 diesel engine so i would like to think ill sell it anyways, I'm just wondering if its worth doing anything to it or not, should i just sell it as it is? What would be a quick and easy way to polish and wax the car by hand, its just for the sake of giving it a quick shine up for selling so is there an all in one product that will give me good results? pic of when i bought it 18 months ago. the car now

Both let it down but do they devalue it more than it costs to put right?? That's how I would look at it People want money off so if you give them stuff to knock the price they feel they've got a good deal and go away happy
I just sold a car of mine and one front wing was very rusty and it was a massive eye sore So I fixed that but left everything else Guy came to look at it was happy with everything else but wasn't happy with something I hadn't even considered doing Knocked me £150 and went away happy
I am a bit funny with damaged wheels because it looks like the owner is careless and don't care about the car So if I was buying your car that would bother me more than anything else

The wheels aren't too bad. I'd leave them.
The bodywork however I'd sort. It makes a good car look unkempt.
When I had my 944 Turbo with minor bubbling, no one wanted to know. When I sorted it, it was an easier car to sell.

Wheels don't look too bad to me. Ones a tad rough but it's a used car the tyres don't look to have sustained damage which to me is the most important thing. The bumper doenst look that bad but the boot lid may be worth putting right it'll likely add more value than the cost of sorting it.
Two of the disks appear shiney and clean and two appear brown prob nothing just me being me. Good luck with the sale I'm sure someone is looking for one with all the toys and the big diesel lump.

I got a quote for the paintwork a while ago, just a standard bodyshop place, it was £650 to repair the 2 areas properly. I don't know if could be done cheaper or not but thats why i though i would sell it as it is and be prepared to take the hit on the value providing it was not too much. I agree with you on the wheels too. I never refurbed them because i thought i would just do the same again. I don't know how much it would cost to make the wheels look new again. Thanks for the reply. The tyres were ok anyway but they have been replaced with new ones. Your right one is particularly bad. I might need to get another quote on fixing the boot lid and hope it increases the value. The car has not been moved much so there is rust residue on the discs.
