Please help I am a bit blonde
I have a 1998 Suzuki supercarry of which I adore So decided to treat her to a bit of TLC engine rebuild new springs, her lovely body rubbed and painted But the problem I have is my steal wheels to be replaced with alloys So I was told Minilights 12inch 4.5 so I paid £170 for 4 I got all excited when they arrived. Being a woman i took the van and wheels to ATS to be fitted ahhhhhh 😪😪😭they would not fit I am so upset😥😥 I am now in the process of selling and to bye other ones can someone help with the size😘😘 pretty please i would be so appreciated Pauline xx

Hi Pauline According to a wheel fitment website the supercarry needs 4x100 bolt fitment but the classic mini was 4x101.x  Strangely I thought the supercarry was 4x114.3 but maybe that is earlier vans so let me confirm... Yes Wikipedia says from 1995 they became 4x100 from July 1995. So to fit the mini wheels you have you could use something called wobble nuts but I’ve not had the best experience of them myself. Another option would be wheel adaptors but they’re usually minimum 20mm width so would make the wheels stick out more. The problem with 4x100 is there’s not many other cars using 12” - the smallest on eBay are 13” but narrowest I can see are 5.5” and with a centre bore of 60.1 I think Renault wheels would be best it just depends on how far out they will stick. |

Why exactly do the rims not fit? Is it the 12" diameter that fowls over the too large brakes? Is it the wrong nut/bolt pattern that fresh&minty mentioned? Or the wheel centre bore? There are a lot of cars using 4x100 bolt pattern: vw, opel, bmw, renault,... and surely some of these had thin wheels like 4,5 or 5x13. Mostly steel wheels, but some early alloys came in thin size too, for golfs or polos for example. Give us some details what you are aiming for and we can make suggestions. And post some pics please.  |

Thank you I am feeling really humbled that people have taken time to help me 😘😘 My ex husband had woberly nuts one woman was not enough but so was a second hmmm it's his loss any way you lot are intelligent and kind I get lost in mechanic talk😉😉 I wish I was more into mechanic's as I love getting my hands dirty. Working in a office the guys have not got a clue I shall get my daughter to take photos of me standing next to my van tomorrow and a tape measure from one wheel nut to the other I think that's how it's done and hopefully I will have a better understanding especially with kind hearted people to help Xx😍😍

photos of me standing next to my van tomorrow and a tape measure from one wheel nut to the other I think that's how it's done Well, that might result in some nice photos, but I don´t think in good measuring results. The difference is so tiny, you won´t be able to measure it with a tape measure. But big enough, so the nuts (or bolts) can not be fitted. Wobbly bolts (or nuts) work excentric, so they might be able to help here, but you did not tell us what the garage said why the wheels do not fit exactly. |

The diameter was wrong the bolts could of fitted through but the centre bit needed stretching outwards if that makes sense. I never realised how hard this would be 😥😥xx

I never realised how hard this would be 😥😥xx That’s the centre bore then  Engineering companies will redrill the centre bore to match a standard wheel if you can give them one of each. I do think that the fraction difference in bolt distance will prove a problem once the wheel can be pushed further on and they try to tighten the nuts. |

I missed the sandwich van that delivers to local businesses this morning, fairly sure its a Supercarry, definitely has aftermarket alloys (look like 14"s IMHO) but will ask if I see him.
I feel an opportunity has been missed, how had nobody directed this lady to her nearest wheel banders! I can only assume you're all waiting for pics to see if they'd suit?

Sorry to confuse people it was Classic mini cooper alloys which I bought 12x4.5 but did not fit I have now sold them and managed to kind of get my money back bar £10😁😁 i am so happy I can now relax and try again with a better idea thanks to you. I wish I was more clued up with vehicles I can see how exciting it can be with a finished product instead of a boring office You lot have been wonderful 😍😍😍 So now make it easy and tell me what I need to bye please lol 😘😘

joehoe runs a microvan forum and although he has on older supercarry with different wheel fitments hopefully he can confirm the specs on the website I quoted at the weekend. Once we know the size of the centre hole and the distance from centre of opposite wheel studs (that photo isn’t face-on enough to confirm either way unfortunately) we can make suggestions. Whereabouts are you? I don’t recognise that reg plate pattern. Is that an Isle of Man logo? Just wondering if any members are close enough to confirm wheel specs.

Oh your so good to me thankyou. Yes idle of man Well that's what I call it because it'so hard to get anything done.😂😂 Going to do a tour of Scotland just me and the dog 🐕🐕 in the little van and I would like a little bit of bling Having a new stereo fitted tomorrow and I want to finish it of with nice wheels But I have no confidence after the last bye. But I am more wiser and braver with the help I am receiving 😊😊xx

4-lug suzukis have either a pcd of 4x100 with a centre bore of 54,1mm or pcd 4x114,3 and cb 60,1mm.
Your wheel pic suggests the later one, older suzuki altos and swifts featured this pcd.
A lot of japanese or korean cars came with that pcd, but also a few rovers, saabs or volvos plus the smart forfour. But the last ones all have bigger wheels.
So you might want to look out for chevrolet, daewoo, honda, hyundai, kia, mazda, mitsubishi, nissan, suzuki or toyota wheels.
In many cases spigot rings may be necessary, as zhe centre bores are often larger.
4x100 would offer a much larger range of wheels, in case of renault twingo rims even a similar design to those mini rims.
Could be useful with a wheel photo taken frontal with the tape measure in it. Have you got access to the spare wheel easily by chance? Or is it hidden underneath the van?
