Upgrading suspension MX5

Hi all

The MK1 is on 140k now and still on her original bilsteins and most bushes are too I suspect.

Ive got a garage to do the fitting but where should I start?..

Shocks, springs, topmounts.. which bushes. I need to buy them in then pass over for fitting..

Thinking KYB or something like that.. not wanting cheap cookies

I'll be keeping the bilsteins as they were factory on the s limited so would be nice to keep for the future.

Depends on how much money you want to spend. Good all rounder that gets almost universal positive praise in 5’ forums are MeisterR ZetaCRD coilovers and OEM rubber or SuperPro bushes.

I wouldn't use any other bushes other than OEM or SuperPro/SuperFlex (both are the same in this instance).

Either get decent springs with Bilstein B6s/B8s or get a decent coilover kit like the Meister Rs. Gazs have a variable rep, but mine were fine. The Golds are better.

I really enjoyed my MX-5 and that was on 156k in a sorted format.

Thanks for the input guys! Yeah I'm super impressed with the old girl. I've moved from the old VW shed to an mx5 and theres no looking back. And old car... Reliable (like properly) and roof down oh and nippy with superb handling!! Lovely. High mileage on these . No bother!!
