Hi All,
I work with kids in care, and for a summer holiday project someone suggested a "Mad Max/Zombie Apocalypse" car!
Two possible ways this could happen...
A donated scrap car, driveway project (car never moves) or (far less likely) as an actual working, driving, legal car!
Any ideas for a non-welded exo cage? Materials and legalities? Links?
I'm off to Google! Thanks in advance
Cheers

I once saw a car with a multipoint internal 'cage' made from 40mm plumbing tube painted silver. Bends were 90degree connectors. Reinforcement and diagonals were added with pipe cement. All done as a wind up for friends and family, it actually looked very convincing until close inspection. I think all in it cost him £25, would have been less if he'd used black tube, but white, painted bright silver, was a bit more obviously in your face.

Usual cages are 32mm iirc. You can get 3 meters of 30mm waste pipe pretty cheaply. I bout 6 meters of 40mm for about £8 the other day so 30mm will be cheaper. In addition if you got it from an online source, or possibly approached a local independent supplier they may be keen to get on board seen as its for a good cause.
Plus, it’s fairly brittle in comparison to some materials which is an advantage for various reasons.

Cheers. I had been thinking about flexible rubber pipe to avoid injuries if there was an accident

I think I’d take that over blunt force trauma. Rather neither of course.
