Looking for help pricing my car please. Bought it with the plan to upgrade it and keep it for weekend runs, but I really just don’t have the time or money to do anything with it. 1999 Audi S4 avant Blue 128219miles Mot expired feb 2019 Manual Stainless exhaust K&n air filter Alloy diverter valves (standard plastic ones fail) Still have the standard air box and old diverted valves. Got a set of silicon hoses for it that haven’t been fitted yet. No rust, and a few parking dings and scratches. Trying to be as honest as possible and listing every little problem. No service history, only old receipts. Recently serviced with receipt. Would benefit from machine buff and polish. And an interior valet. Seats and door cards have been changed to better condition items in a lighter colour, but original ones can come with the car. LCD dash display is pixelated (common problem) Trim missing from bottom of both front doors and the rear passenger side quarter window. Slow puncture or rim leak on driver side rear.

If you’re on the desktop version there is a small “upload” button at the bottom. Just select that to add photos.
I was looking at a S4 avant, even at 6k the majority were 185k. Your mileage may attract a few buyers. Nice colour as well.

MOT it for the sale, with a fresh ticket I'd advertise it at £10k

I was toying with the idea of mot-ing it and doing a timing belt on it, but wasn’t sure I would see the money back.

There are much better ones on ebay for less than 7k.
If its got all those problems as well as no history , and your not going to address any of those problems then i would expect a difficult time selling it against what else is around as its niche car .

That’s kind of what I thought. Just wondered how much it would be worth as it’s sat, compared to with all the problems sorted, i.e is it worth getting it all sorted to sell, or just some of it?

At least give it a proper valet inside and out , to me if someone cannot be bothered to even clean a car means i will not even go and view it . I know it seems to just be normal now but to me , especially if i was travelling and spending thousands i would expect some show or it being cared for .
Might be worth sourcing the missing trim as well , I'm betting its cheap and easy to get off ebay and will take seconds to fix .
So for less than £100 you should be able to get some new trim delivered and spend 10 minutes fitting it , and pay your local car wash guys to do the full works inside and out and you will have a much more saleable car . Take it to a tyre place as well , its like £10 to fix a puncture or worse case a cheap tyre .

Yeah they are all fair points. Makes sense to tick off as many of the small problems as possible before putting it up for sale.
Finding it very hard to price though, as the prices seem to be all over the place.

Ebay is what people are advertising them for , not necessary what they are selling for which is anyones guess . Depends what you would accept and what you bought it for .
Might be worth looking at the timing belts , if you have just had it serviced and the belts are done and it runs fine then i suppose the history may not matter that much to most as its old ... thats if the trim and everything else was done and it was clean to suggest it has been looked after .
Price .. who knows ... I'm guessing if you started it at 5k on ebay you would get plenty of interest compared to the others ..
All suggestions as its only worth what someone will pay !

Thanks for all the replies.
Well if I could get 5k, i’d be happy as it would cover what I paid for it and getting the timing belt done.
Anything over and above would be a bonus.
