Guy's (and gals)
i have a gearbox from a v6 Omega in the Escort, and because of this, i cannot have a cable made up because of the original set up with the vauxhall and some strange connection between the box and the speedo, what are my options, i need to show proof of mileage, (honestly) Is there a gadget such as a sat-nav?

Expensive way: www.speedhut.com/ecommerce/product/2585/SpeedBox%E2%84%A2-GPS-VSS-to-Mechanical-Drive-Speed-Converter although you still need to generate a speedo pulse in the first place. A £20 proximity switch picking up on the tri-lobe output flange on the back of the gearbox will sort that. Cheap(er) way - Still get a £20 proximity switch picking up off the lobe, but use a universal speedo from the likes of CAI, VDO etc. Cheaper still - One of the Chinese Acewell-style specials off eBay/CBS etc. Depends if you want it to look OK or just compliant?
