I'm in the process of stripping everything off the front of my Scimitar. I'm stuck on the bumper over riders. I cannot work out how to get them off at all. Inside the nose of the car any holding bolts are completely buried in the front nose support framework and lots of front end wiring... and would also be darned difficult to reach without going to extremes of stripping far more off the car than I want to just to remove two little chunks of chrome.
The thing is though, I can;t even get a grasp of how they are attached (and therefore detatched) by feeling around blindly with my fingers, and it's impossible to see what's going on inside them.
So, as Scim SE5a over riders are pretty much the same as Ford over riders (escort Mk1 and I presume other UK Fords of the 60's and 70's) I'm wondering if anybody happens to have a picture of a removed over rider from the rear view. I can google endless pictures of the front...
What I'd really like to see is a view of the reverse side, just so I can get a feel for how I actually need to approach removing them.
