So, the workshop that currently have my ZS shell and initial thought it was in fairly sturdy shape have now decided that there's 15-20K of work in the shell to final paint. I see this rather differently. Does anyone know anywhere that has an understanding of working on older (low value cars) so not a full on rest shop, that they might recommend I try? Anywhere in the South West considered. Pics for illustrative not informative purposes.

You could try Darren at Timeless Classic Cars in Poole on 07849 615 702 but his body man is always busy

I'd speak with @grumpynortherner.
Bodywork is a strange one. I know of some pricey places who really are average, but also some cheap places who are OK.

It does not look overly bad at all - I'm always busy but happy to talk / advise without any obligation - I'm not that far away either if you wanted to call in and talk in person - Chris

I would suggest that high price was the F off figure . Meaning they do not want to do and are giving you a artificially high price so it goes somewhere else .
You get the same with regular garages where they just want to change discs and pads all day and not do anything involved.
