New car time what to buy next?

Ive sold a few of my cars of this year including a mk5 rs2000 Porsche 996 and a mk3 astra gsi.
Now in the market for a new toy, As you can see I'm not really into anything modern or something that's still depreciating. 
But I'm a bit stumped as to what i want.
Ive been looking at anything from a mk2 golf GTI to a Aston martin vanguard. 

Really like the look of the Noble M12 but there out of budget so come on guys show me some ideas....?

What do you want from a car. That's the big question.

As for moderns it depends what you call 'modern'. A number of them are having their values firmed up.

A friend went to buy an E46 330Ci. Those prices have changed from 12 months ago. Almost every sub £2k car he saw was an absolute dog. Even at £3.6k they weren't right! He ended up paying around £4.3k for a 2002 330Ci ClubSport, albeit on 70k. I never thought I'd see those values firm up this early on in their life.

You can add the Vauxhall VX220 to that list as well as the Lotus Elise.

It's made me re-evaluate the M3's value. I honestly wouldn't have thought it was worth much more than what I paid for it, despite what people have been saying.

Basically after a weekend car, Id class modern stuff as car's that are still losing value.
What I don't want is any thing in the £500+ tax bracket.

I don't know how much money you have but if its 10k or so i would go for this .

Get some pictures etc , even a cheap flight there .

Use it and improve it for a couple of summers .

Sell on for a hell of a lot more than you bought it .
