So we need to use the flywheel from the 5MB engine (and also therefore a new starter). This engine has been sat unused for a few years so the flywheel is rusty. I've cleaned it up carefully with a pad wheel but are we good to go or do we need to spend 50quid getting it skimmed up properly ? James

Depends how fussy you are, I'd go with it as it is.

I'd just run it as it is. If it had heavy pitting I'd skim it, but it looks pretty good when cleaned up.

as it's staying std, leave as is. If you were Turbo'ing it etc, skim it.

It will be fine. As long as its not warped skimming isnt really nessicary.

Reason the cushion was on the floor when gently removing it (OK whacking it with a big brass hammer) was so that the floor wasn't damaged ! Thanks. James
