I've got this in an old Notek Fairlite 777 lamp Never seen anything quite like it It has Mazda 12V 55W Made in England written on it, and possible 23 and B I'm looking at getting an LED replacement so I can run it straight off a gearbox switch for a reversing light. Can anybody identify this bulb - my Google foo is weak today.

Is the bulb just the glass part? VW sidelight bulbs looked similar to that in the '80s, but you could pull them out of their holder...

Thanks I did wonder that, but there is no sign of movement. Also these are 55w - whereas the ones you linked would be more like 5/10W

For it to be ‘mazda’ branded it’s got to be old. It’s most probably obsolete. How does it fair size wise against a H3? That is probably your best bet at an LED replacement that will fit.

Nice one Rich - I think we might have something here Very close in size to the H3 A mod seems pretty straightforward, as I might be able to remove the "cage" from the bottom of bulb. I think I'll order up a couple of H3's and see how my luck is

Hold up, a 55w (or LED equivalent of)reversing light? A standard halogen for that job is 21w.
