I thought they'd be simple too, I was wrong. There's 4 pairs of wires coming off the ESC, one pair for the receiver, one pair is a switch. That leaves 2 pairs. Should be for the motor and the battery? It doesn't matter which pair I put where nothing happens. I've tried rebinding my transmitter and receiver and trying them again, still no joy. So it got binned of in favour of doing my nitro car project. 🙂 Should have 3 wires on the ESC to connect to the RX. If you've connected the battery to the motor wiring that will have likely killed the ESC, and possibly the RX too sadly. Moot point if it's got binned :/ I didn't mean it's actually gone in the bin, just put aside in favour of a car that does work. I'll get back to it when I can be bothered with it. 😃

These are bloody ace, if only I didn't melt a piston in my hyper 7 and decide to EV convert it haha, I'll have to put a few trucks on my Christmas list.

ESC is here, and it's s completely different beast to the first one I bought. The connectors are pretty easy to work out re what's what. One to receiver. One with a switch, that was easy to work out on the last one. It's the battery and motor that I couldn't work out. This one is plain as day. The Tamiya battery connector gives it away. I've had to order a couple of Tamiya connectors for my battery and charger, so hopefully it'll be mobile in a few days.

Looking good mark. I haven't had time to do much with my crawler, or the nitro car because I've been, get this, working on a real car!!! 1/1 scale, and everything.
😲😁

More filling and sanding has happened over the last few days and tonight I got some paint on. It's a little lighter than I'd have liked, but I still think it suits. The roof is getting there too. It's had another skim of filler since that pic.

I'm liking the station wagon build markbognor , looking very tidy! Started a few more bits on my WC project. Built the chassis up with a dubious looking extended prop. Will see how long that lasts. Sloshed some paint about. Started work on the cab. Filed the moulded marker lamps off the wings and cut the grille out Have started to prime the cab so more soon. Want to have as many trucks up and running for RR-Weekender and have a crawling course for anyone who has an RC they want to play with

Did you dismantle the chassis for paint Rich, or just take the wheels off?
Haven't decided If I'll bring the slot track to the Weekender this year, but they'll definitely be some WPL trucks coming along! Thought I might have a crack at some portable obstacles too.

I've got a pile of 'stuff' in the corner of the workshop for obstacles so I have some, if you do some too that'll be ace. I just blasted the chassis over sans wheels with the paint, as per a period military vehicle to be fair. Makes a difference to the way it looks, looks more.. proper.

Got some paint on the bare bones of the cab Mounted the fuel tanks up, stock they sit tucked too far under the running boards so I've spaced them out with PC board standoffs And I'd been gifted a WPL winch. Usually it seems on the MV kits people just lump them on the bumper. Not many MV's actually had a nose mount winch, and often it was a centre mounted PTO driven affair. Obviously that's what I'm aiming for so I shaved a bit off it here and there and it fits lovely. Cable spools out of the rear cross-member and I will have split eyes under the chassis so the 'cable' can be spooled to the front bumper.
