I made some more wheels...

These started out as metal MN wheels that arrived here as part of the D12 swap. They were originally had a red anodised finish, which was stripped with oven cleaner. I thought I'd be done with that, but decided as I was in school today to have a little play on the lathe.

Some 1/16 dually wheels were relieved of their barrells, and the outer rim of the MN wheel turned down to suit their ID.

Received a package from WPL today , couple of spares for the D12 and C24 along with the conversion parts for the C34 . Bit of paint and now it looks like this. Also made a couple of blanket rolls from one of my old socks .

Love it. C34-1's are my current favourite thing.

I decided I didn't like the spare hanging out the back so I've mounted it off the back of the cab now.

I got the twin motor C44 up and running this evening. I'm very pleased with how it runs. The tourque twist that hampered this one is leveled out and it glides over obstacles. The one issue I'm not sure about though is one motor starting up before the other - the unloaded wheels start to spin before the loaded axle has enough current to turn, needing a bit more throttle to get going.

Now the MN90 is working as it should I thought I would give it a coat of paint and a few accessories.






Then C34 got a few more bits in the bed .




And I finally got around to painting up the D12 , idea is that the Tofu deliveries are going so well for Initial D , he had to trade in the AE86 for a little truck . Enter the Initial D12 .

Ive got two real trucks at the minute so no funds for RC crawlers but i love them. some of my previous ones.

Ooops, seem to accidently have a used yellow D90 on its way.

And took the red C44 curb crawling the other day.

Lot done recently, we had snow:



I found the tyres off a Playmobil digger fitted (at a literal stretch) on the stock WPL wheels, and the vintage wheel loader ones were a good facsimile to the ZIL tyres.







I got a big lot of 3D printed wheels from mijbits.com/ for various trucks.

The ZIL then went for a play in Snow V.2.0 before I had chance to do the wheels.

I've started muddling about with the other bits and bobs I have too, starting to build the M35 wrecker up. I've ditched the idea of duallies for this truck as there is just too much wheel and tyre going on, opting to mount the rears in reverse like the dually outer but behind the hub to bring them inboard a bit. When the wheels get painted I doubt this will be noticeable.

Which meant I have 4 spare lug mount wheels, so I ordered another set of hubs off banggood and will use them on the other other other truck build, which will be a loose copy of a WW2 allied weapons carrier.

I have lost interest with my D90 because despite my best efforts with the electronics I can't get the b@stard to work. ☹️
So I'm focusing my attention on building my nitro Schanke rally cross rep.

Electronics should be pretty simple man, what’s the bother with it?

Electronics should be pretty simple man, what’s the bother with it?

I thought they'd be simple too, I was wrong.
There's 4 pairs of wires coming off the ESC, one pair for the receiver, one pair is a switch. That leaves 2 pairs. Should be for the motor and the battery?
It doesn't matter which pair I put where nothing happens.
I've tried rebinding my transmitter and receiver and trying them again, still no joy.
So it got binned of in favour of doing my nitro car project.

Should have 3 wires on the ESC to connect to the RX. If you've connected the battery to the motor wiring that will have likely killed the ESC, and possibly the RX too sadly. Moot point if it's got binned :/

Got some new driver figures this week , pretty good size for both the D12 ,C34 and D90 . And two of them were in normal clothes .
