They Respond to turbo conversions very well. Yes, I have an itch for a 3.2T ... A few owners on the R32 owners club and other 3.2 specific sites have Turbo converted theirs with fantastic results. The majority of them on standard conversions and unmodified gearboxes. The surprising thing is the amount of power theyโre getting!

Drop a 2.8 crank in the 3.2 to get a low compression 3.0 and start boosting...
Very strong internals. Easily capable of 400+bhp.
More modern 24v versions are the ones to get.their more modern enginemanagementsystems makes them less thirsty. The old 12v ones are getting tired by now.
Golf mk3 vr6 was not an impressive car to me. 2.8 litre with 2.0 performance and 4.0 consumption.. They do sound glorious.

grizz - I am currently tootling about in a PD130 TDi Alhambra (belonging to my in-laws) that's for sale. Needs some work doing for December MOT, PM me if it's any interest. Sport spec, has towbar and I'm only in Sussex

Sport spec, has towbar and I'm only in Sussex Hmmmmmmm..... ๐ Needs work done for MOT. A dark alley to venture down. But then..... the Blazer was too, and I survived that. Let me know by PM if you want about all the dirt on the Alhambra. Also waiting to hear about this ยฃ500 CR-V down the road.
