We made a video! ... in fact we've made a few and will be releasing them on a weekly basis, this is our first The bus was outside on the Optima Street Car Challenge stand/area, and I believe it lead the parade of those cars to the SEMA Ignited thing in the evening. The guy that built it was super cool and enthusiastic about the whole thing. Wake Customs is based in San Diego if anyone from down that way wants to get something awesome built Next up Rob Dahm's AWD RX7, probably next week. We may be able to release a vlog from the event in the mean time too, depending on how editing time scales go (curse this needing a full time job!).

Each to his own and I'm sure that there is some great workmanship in this (that's a positive by the way ), but I can't get excited about it. And is practically-classics.co.uk/forum/ really still alive and well?

Sweet, far more interesting than a restored one.

I'd like to be the first to extend a warm RR welcome to the builder of that bus, who would have been told by Hotwire that the video was for RetroRides, a friendly uk based global community of broad-minded enthusiasts of all flavours of old car, and is therefore likely to drop by and see the vid for himself, maybe chat a little, answer a few questions. Welcome sir, if you're there. Love the Metro Bus. Very very cool.

I do like and obscure van/pickup (obscure to me anyway). They remind me of a very very VERY cool yellow patinad pickup that I first saw at wheels day a few years ago. Cant remember what it was called and had no idea what it was, just that it was very very cool.

A mate of mine has imported 3 or 4 of these. I believe he’s doing a build on one for himself.
(And is funny how many people don’t bother to read the MO on here ain’t it).

Now I have watched the video, I'm even more impressed. It's not a Why?, its a "Why not?" kind of vehicle

Nice video!
We need more car related shows on youtube, especially as they are usually infrequently posted.
Not sure on lowriders in general, but I love the roll cage and the other details!

Watched the video, who does he think he is Bret ‘the hitman’ heart??
I like it apart from the paint and wheels

Watched the video, who does he think he is Bret ‘the hitman’ heart?? I like it apart from the paint and wheels Tbh it is a total mish-mash of styles, but some of it works much better than you’d give it credit for. I actually quite like how the (totally unnecessary, by the builders admission) roll cage is also the seat frames, and the framework for all the rear cubby boxes etc. Notice it also had speaker pods welded in! The only bit that really gave me the eye twitch was the steering wheel tbh, but then I just don’t like that style of wheel. I’d have put a stocker (or stock style one) on there for the juxtaposition. but I think if some of it was toned down a little it would actually speak more as a overall Vehicle. But then it’s SEMA and everything is so in your face it’s actually not that OTT by their standards.

One of the things that didn't make it in to the video was that the outside paint was for a church school of some sort, when they rubbed down the paint in the middle back to the purple it looked to be for a group of people following Lynyrd Skynyrd around on tour I suspect that bus has stories.

Very cool bus, I was a bit put off by the branding on the side but after watching the video it made sense. I love how they didn’t cover everything with panelling and instead let the chassis be the floor, oh and the drivers seatVideo was great as well 👍🏻 Looking forward to the next
