Morning all, Since the burst of a NOS clutch pipe on Mk2 sons 105e anglia, its been repaired with hydraulic hose by the local agricultural suppliers, but he’s not happy, and now wants to replace the pipe with braided hose. Can’t find anything off the shelf, and my experience with braided hoses is zero, anyone got thoughts? TIA

Thanks, he’ll probably want to make his own, so I’ve ordered a Rallydesign catalogue, just got to work out what size imperial fittings we need now Cheers both

Be cheaper and quicker just go to any hydraulic repair place or use a local Pirtek agent or similar, they can make any pipe with any fittings. I believe that HEL will also do bespoke hoses auto.helperformance.com/ . Generally their benefit is long life and they don't bulge or crack with age compared to standard hose, which even when new will expand very slightly.

HEL are good, I’ve used them in the past for such things.
Beware it will likely make the clutch feel heavier/ more ‘wooden’ though, as there will be no flex/bulge in a stainless hose compared to a rubber one.

The one we fitted was supposedly a NOS Nylon one, he’d only done a couple of hundred miles when it burst, I’ve melted them on exhaust manifolds before, but never seen one go the way this did, makes me think it was a poor quality pipe

Car runs a 1600GT Xflow, doesn’t run hot, we were stuck in a traffic jam on the hottest day of the year a week or so before, it was absolutely fine🧐
