Hello chaps.
I am in need of some advice and help.
My last bottle of gas has run out and unfortunately my previous source is no more. So I need to find a new supplier. Obviously nothing will happen any time soon as we’re not allowed out of the house, but when we are, it would be nice to have someone already lined up.
I am well out of touch with prices because my last gas used to be, well, Free! So anything in comparison will seem a lot, but prices seem to vary quite considerably. I am not too interested in bottles with a monthly rent charge on them, because I will probably have hold of it for a considerable while.
I am based in the south east and the best prices I seem to be able to find are up into the hundreds which I’m not overly keen to pay. The most reasonable seems to be Adams Gas if anyone has used them? I’d be interested to know where you guys would recommend.
Thanks.

Dunno where about in Kent you are, have a look at Hobbyweld, they have outlets in Maidstone, Tenterden Dartford, Uckfield, and more, If any of them are open you will be lucky, perhaps the one in Dartford, as they are genuine welding suppliers

As Ian says, depending on where you are in Kent there are a few places around. I have suffered a similar fate to you in that my closest motor factors/Adams Gas suppliers has now upped and disappeared to Surrey, just not told anyone for some strange reason, even their website still says they are still there 6 months later and still have gas... ask me how I know...
Anyway, place I now use for Adams Gas is Culverwells in Robertsbridge, not far off A21 so easy enough to get to if you are relatively nearby?

Thanks guys.
I am based in the Rochester area.
Previously I have used 90L bottles, however this is a massive overkill and something a tenth of the size would do now. I’ll have a look at the options and work out what is best. I don’t mind if it’s a bit of a drive out, gives me an excuse to pull something out of the garage. Once this ha all blown over that is!
Thanks very much for the help guys.

I used hobby weld Argon (5%)/ CO2. You pay a deposit on the cylinder and then the cost of a fill (they come filled), after that take it back and either get another for the cost of a fill or get your deposit back.

My nearest Hobbyweld supplier is Electraweld, but their prices seem to be a bit more than Adams Gas. A quick call to a friend and he is telling me that he is using a very local Adams gas supplier.
It must be 10 years since I last bought gas, it’s got expensive!! That or I’m right which is more probable!
Once I’ve finished work I’ll have a scroll through and work out the numbers. Luckily both Adams Gas and Hobbyweld suppliers are within about 15 minutes of me.

Another vote for Culverwells in Robertsbridge. They do have a branch in Tenterden, but never asked if they do Gas,sure they do. Stanley George in Tenterden stock gas. Maybe ask grizz where he gets Gas as he is close to Rochester 😊 I stand to be corrected, but I think Aghabridge stock welding gas as well...

They use a place in Medway City estate, but the last two bottles his dad delivered at home for me with their Transit. Bottle exchange or deposit needed. Obviously

I've used adams, they seem fine, they have quite a few local depot's around Kent and Essex as well so you don't have to traipse to the end of the world (Well Margate).
