I'm currently enjoying a well earned break in the wilds of Mid Wales,.. well I say Mid Wales it is more Wales/England borders, and therein lies a serendipitous discovery. We decided to head to Offa's Duke in order to climb up a stupid steep hill. When we parked the car I noticed this lurking about:
Now it isn't often you see an RO80, let alone one without wheels. I filed it in my brain to come and take photos of on our return and headed up a stupid hill.
*Insert hill and dog splashing around in river montage*
When we got back down from successfully recreating the Welsh defence of their homelands (my wife is of firey Welsh origin). I popped over to have another look at the RO80, this time though the chap that built it was there.
As it turns out it is going to be a spaceship, here are it's rockets:
The guy that built it is called Andy Hazell whose website can be found here www.andyhazell.co.uk/
Peeking inside his yard I spied two other interesting vehicles:
After having a chat where he explained what his art cars are all about he let me have a nose about in building where he works. Check out this super cool Turner Ranger 4 Wheel Drive, 4 Wheel Steering
As a kid I always wanted a go in one of these mad six wheeled things:
Found another hidden DS too
It seems Andy is leaving our shores soon to enrich Norway with his general aura of being awesome. Check out his bio on the page linked above, what a life. Really pleased to have bumped into him. I raised the question of what happens to all of this stuff when he leaves, he asked if I fancied a large building full of stuff. Have to say I was tempted ... very tempted.
