“Rover” and “cool” don’t usually go in the same sentence, However this Prebble owned Rover 220 Tomcat is a little different. 1993 Saw Rover ick off a single make series for these Coupe Turbo cars and this particular car was the development car for that series. Its been in the family for many many years and the guys reckon it hadn’t been out in maybe 10 years since it last raced in the Castle Combe GT Championship. It only has 915 miles on the clock which is all track work but has has some changes since Rover had hold of it.
On Monday it had some issues with a lower wishbone breaking and Gary ate a driveshaft we think. From memory this car used to push close to 600BHP through its Dunlop slicks but we are sure the boys will correct us if we are wrong. So a pretty special car in terms of the history of club racing in the UK.
