Hi Guys,
Putting my car up here to see what interest there is.
The car has an interesting history:
It was bought full trim option back in 92 by a gent who seems to have absolutely loved it. His older son inherited it about 5 years ago and was the custodian until I bought it 2 years ago. The car was always garaged, and since the son owned it, it was only driven about 1000 per year, MOTd and serviced.
When I purchased the car, it wasn't in perfect condition as it had been sitting relatively unused in the garage. On driving it home, I realised the wheels were badly misaligned and the rear bushes had began to fail. Engine wise, no major issues aside from a small persistent oil leak.
Since I purchased the car, I've had some fairly extensive work done, including rear arch and sill welding, undersealing, complete poly bush replacement, all fluids have been flushed at least once, if not twice. New alternator, new rocker cover gasket and bolts, new lamba sensor, new battery and a set of new Toyo Proxes.
There's plenty of other small bits which have been done to the car, including tackling a small (possibly tappet) noise with an oil flush. Thankful to say this has not been an issue since.
Electrics are 100% perfect, headlights pop-up as new, all buttons and functions are as they should be. The interior is as pristine as the exterior, with just a couple of age related spots on the drivers seat and floormat. The carpets are as new and the rooflining is pristine. No leaks or moistur in the cabin. Comes with the original headunit / CD player.
The car is basically stock, apart from the standard replacement parts. Not 100% showroom fresh, but turns heads at every traffic light.
Currently sitting around 115k miles, which is stunning for a car in this condition.
Current standing issues are as follows:
Sills show small signs of exterior rust at the rear, but are still 100% solid. Will require a sand and a coat of pain to be new again.
A small spot of rust on the drivers side door panel at the front corner. Not a concern, but will need to be tackled if kept outside.
Now it's winter, bushes are a little squeaky at the front, and could do with a re-grease (Only 2 months new). Doesn't affect performance or cause damage.
Wheel nuts were chipped by some idiot at the wheel alignment shop and have now began to rust. Could do with a refurbishment but not a major concern.
The car has a full service history, and recently only failed its MOT due to emissions from a little burnt oil. Has some very small oil leaks from the oil pan, but not enough to warrant any major concern, as it holds on to its 4L of oil easily.
Paintwork is pretty much spotless for a car its age. The only damage to the paintwork is on the passenger rear wheel arch where someone in a carpark tagged it with their bumper. Thankfully it's fiberglass, so no worries about rust, could be easily touched up. There are the normal stone chips and stress marks on the front bumper, but the rest of the car is pretty much pristine.
I have absolutely loved this car, it's been my baby since day one and has been my daily driver. I've never once ragged on it, even the previous owner was old enough to drive it sensibly, and it does a lot of motorway miles.
Full disclosure that I was a detailer in a previous life, so the body work has been really taken care of and maintained to a high standard. A lot of the exterior parts have received multiple polishings and buffings, but I haven't done the body yet due to time.
This car has to go to a good home. I'm not in a rush to sell, as I'm trying to find my next semi-project vehicle. I would consider a straight swap for a car in similar condition or value, and I'm hunting for a good quality 90's/00's 4x4 or SUV.
Let me know your thoughts guys, I'm open to offers and would love for the car to continue to be cared for and used well. I'm based in Hull, NE Yorkshire.
