Hi, i have two brand new wings to fit in place of rusty ones.
I don't have the money to get them sprayed by a bodyshop and all spray painting of bodywork I've ever done has turned out poop.
So, I was thinking of spraying them in non-body coloured Montana spray paint.
How would I prep the wings and would I need a clear over the top of the colour?
Pete

Pete A good base primer, something like Buzzweld RE would be ideal. No clear is required on Montana. ‘Black’ is the satin range, ‘white’ is gloss.

Key with red scotch or 320-400, epoxy primer and Montana over the top?

Thread resurrection to ask the experienced among You:
Since Montana (white in this case) is actually graffiti paint: how long does it take to dry on a car, outside in sunny weather?

Quick enough to make painting a car in one hit hard enough with a dusty edge on adjacent panels. Will take a few days to fully cure but it dries off quickly.

Thanks Rich, I have some spare doors and tailgate that I will paint separately in-&outside, but before I put them on the car, I want to paint the hidden areas, too, and put the parts on the same day.

When I get time to do silly paint jobs it's safe to mask over Montana after half an hour if its a reasonably warm day.
