Being British is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, then travelling home, grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab on the way, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV.

Take a look at my website. Plenty of mk3's in the gallery section. There's also the body kits in the bodywork section and if you click on the picture of my own car in the top left corner you'll find some pics of mine.

Didn't Custom Car or Street Machine modify a poverty spec' 1.3L in a 'jet fighter' stylee?
I remember entering the competition and hoping I'd have a car by the time I passe dmy test, so I'm thinking it must've been '86 ish.

Car & Car Conversions magazine did a 'project 4dr 'c' reg Escort MK3' in Yellow with an RS bodykit and MK4 RS Turbo wheels in 1989 (car was only 3 year old and had rust already!!!). Although it was 4 door it had a roll cage and it had a Weber/webcom injection system (newish development then). Unfortunately despite the excessive amount of money spent on it the 'finishing' was not good for a so-called magazine project car, e.g when you opened the bonnet the insides were still blue (original colour of car) with just yellow overspray everywhere! It was an interesting project car that could have been how to do a budget modified car neatly but then they seemed to loose their way with regards to what they wanted to do.
I have no pics but would love to see some and what became of it?

Some nice stuff there, I'm getting tempted into a 4 door ghia.
Need something cheap and cheap to run, cleaned 4 door slammed on cloverleafs would fit the bill nicely.
Whats the difference between the 2 1.3 engines that were available?
