I can’t remember if it helped increase the sound of the wastegate whistle (damn I used to love that sound) but there’s a fair bit of plastic that can be removed that restricts air flow… I just took the lid off the airbox last night to see what it sounded like and it sounded great! Lovely little turbo whistle and much louder wastegate. My correctly sized RamAir filter should land today or tomorrow which I'm hoping will improve the sound further. The downside of it would be heat soak so I suppose I could rig a bit of a barrier up? What's the worst case scenario of heat soak? Less power and more mpg? Just in case I fancy leaving it like this for a bit until I sort a permanent solution.

This Toyota 1.3 Turbo coupe came up for sale recently but is sold now. Looks a well executed conversion. Is there a thread on this? Look like an amazing build! Love the OP's car too! Gordon Murray's used to daily one of these apparently until he bought an Alpine That's really interesting! It's funny that fact isn't more widely known to battle the naysayers. Quite the testament! Didn't he engineer the Mclaren F1? Edit: just looked it up and he is the man that engineered the F1. He dailied a Smart Roadster for 13 years

Goodies! Tinted LED side repeaters and correctly sized RamAir foam filter. Although it still looks a bit big... Find out soon enough!

Done! I'll report back as to the noise difference later - not had a chance to test it out yet. Anyone got any tips for removing side repeaters without damaging paintwork?

Cool and quirky. I find myself drawn to these. Yep, you've the best wheels for these. Nice work.

Managed to get the sound system finished today 👌 Only messed up the switchable live as I assumed the live would be the brown wire and not the blue and yellow one. Turns out I was wrong (probably should've used my multimeter rather than guess!) but other than that it was straight forward enough. Managed to use a grommet that was already there for the constant 12v, and completely hid all the other wires. I drilled a small hole in the recess for the screw that holds the console in so I could feed the wire through past the handbrake. I wanted the whole thing to be stealthy other than the remote. I'm chuffed with it - sounds great! Any one understand the switches and dials on the remote? Volume is obvious I presume frequency is how deep it can go? If so, why would you want that to be adjustable? Also - What's the phase switch? Pics pre hoover and final tidy up

The frequency dial is for the crossover, it's a low pass filter, so it determines the point that the subwoofer starts getting bass. Set it higher if your main speakers are small and weedy, lower if the sub is just adding low bass to better speakers, but really what sounds good to you with your music.
Ideally, if your head unit has a high pass filter, set them to about the same and experiment from there. A high pass filters the bass away, so protecting your main speakers and making them sound better.
Phase, just experiment. You can't damage it. Just flick back and forth a few times, you may not notice a difference, but if you do just leave it on the one you prefer

Just read back and saw you had upgraded speakers but I assume standard head unit? Harder to protect your main speakers (and it may not be necessary) but look up bass blocker capacitors if you find the main speakers struggling

The standard unit has R and L front speaker channels and R and L tweeter channels. I spliced the sub into the R and L speaker channels and then turned the bass down on the headunit so the door speakers don't have to deal with much bass and cab be cranked up

Just a little update - replaced the rubber radio knob with a metal guitar knob. Straight swap!

Due to budgetary constraints, these arrows can't be rectified simultaneously. Which would you guys say should be the priority? Purely from an aesthetics point of view

I would say the downward arrow is a priority , from there you can accurately measure the outward arrow .
Although I always thought it was law too address the downward arrow at the earliest opportunity ?? 😂

Anyone got any tips for removing side repeaters without damaging paintwork? The repeaters come off pretty easily, no tools required. Push them one way (usually towards the front end) and gently pull outwards, if it doesn't come try the other end.

It appears to have an Elgrand welded to the back of it! I’d say lower first then spacers as when it’s lower you’d have more of an idea how much space you’ve got to widen.
