I was idly thinking about this when driving around earlier. Would it be possible to make a British VIP style car, with a British base car and (crucially) British wheels (and accessories). We're not short base vehicles I think, there is already a bit of a think for XJ6/XJ12's being done in a VIP style: Now ideally you'd want the slightly longer wheel base versions, but not a stretched one. However we've got more than that to offer I'm sure. Like all VIP cars aren't Toyota CROWNs (although a lot are), there must be more than just Jags from the UK? I guess Bentley would be a reasonable choice, equivalent to the occasionally VIP'd Toyota Century. I'd run up to 2005 as the newest car, which could open up some options. So then there is the question of wheels, any suitable wheels. I think a dive into the Wolfrace catalogue may be in order. Who else is UK based? Obviously this is a bit new, but about as British and VIP as you can get

Quick Ebay, this seems like a likely candidate: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284566796815A bit like this shape Nissan Cima ... clearly I need to do some photoshopping.

A.. "challenging" base car, but then think of it as the British equivalent to the Toyota Verossa, an equally unique looking car that does get used as a base for drift or VIP builds. Then maybe some 19s or 20s courtesy of Image wheels, either of these, fully polished up could work?

I’m driving an str at the moment, it’s going lower very soon. But I can’t afford the image wheels I’d like for it…. But I’ll keep an eye on this thread for any cheaper wheel ideas.

Ok, I admit that I don't really know too much about the whole VIP car thing but, taking on board what has already been posted, maybe one of these? I'm thinking black, dropped with some very nice chrome rims. Interior style ditto, black leather and chrome, obv, I dunno how important the interior is to the overall VIP effect but.... I'll get me coat.

The Jags are a great call. VIP's need to be a long & lowish saloon with a good amount of grunt to pull the weight in addition to being top spec to start with. Personally, a 4 & 6 pot just don't cut it for the VIP scene. This could work if it could be dropped a fair bit:

Yeah they're not ideal, my thinking was if you get something with a big diameter, polished up (or chromed would be better) they could maybe get to looking a bit like an AME Shallen sort of wheel. Image do an AMG style wheel as well which could look a little like a Work Euroline, but again, a bit off. I'm not sure who in the UK makes particularly "VIP" wheels, short of just adapting some Bentley or Rolls wheels to fit something.

I'm not sure who in the UK makes particularly "VIP" wheels, short of just adapting some Bentley or Rolls wheels to fit something. Yeah I think that is the limiting factor here. The choice of manufacturer is limited and then their range does not really include this style of wheel. Okay let's say European wheel manufacturers, which does open up some definite VIP wheels. The Scorpio is a great choice of car. I'm wondering if the Granada could work, it hasn't got the classic 3 box shape that most VIP cars have, but it is undeniably the same principle as a CROWN on similar. Some Japanese VIP cars (all CROWNs) to give some inspiration Rob M mentioned interiors. That would be ideally some suitable wood (walnut dash etc.) and accessories for the VIP lifestyle, privacy curtains, drinks holder etc.

Not sure about a Scorpio but there's a definite lack of arch space on the front of a Granada. The CROWNs seem to swallow 19" wheels, think to do it on a Granada you'd need some sort of Bodykit to make it look low. I did some properly properly traveller stuff to the front of my Granada to get clearance (like next level do not post on Internet stuff) to steer and that was on 17x7s.

I'd go 18s on a Scorpio, they're not a particularly large car.
