As said in the ULEZ petition thread, this won't achieve anything sadly. If it does I'll eat my socks.

Exactly what we don't need during a fuel shortage.

If you want lower oil/fuel prices - use less of it.

Every time you go to the filling station just put in £50 worth - it'll always cost the same.

If you want lower oil/fuel prices - use less of it. Really?? Not a realistic option for all is it? Nick

It's the same with any energy - turn the stat down - put a jumper on walk to the shops. Simple - Like losing weight - just eat less - which will also drive down fuel costs. Most find it easier to find excuses why they can't. Unless you don't use any fuel at all - yep using less is not a realistic option, but then again the cost of it isn't really going to be an issue anyway. Or is this about affordability because that is a completely different discussion.

imo taxes are never, ever, cut.
chancellor may freeze a potential increase, but nothing more.
fuel is my biggest expense running a car, fuel use for work is tiny as its only 3 miles away, but when I am not working I am motoring for pleasure and do a lot of miles, my car is a diesel but 50+ mpg, I have cut down my leisure motoring somewhat to try and budget but stopping at home does my nut in.
there are worse things I could spend my money on!
I do follow fuel prices, today [16th march 2022] fuel prices in my area have dropped from 1.70's to the 1.60's so some things are changing with supply and barrel rates.
EV's don't interest me, I like engine and tinkering with cars, as the government earn curse word all from EV's I expect HUGE taxation on them in the future as fossil fueled cars diminish, I can see EV's requiring a seperate power source which will be taxed to the extreme. all IMO.

It's not just fuel prices that are a joke though, even at todays redonkulous fuel prices, it's still more affordable for me to drive my crusty 07plate diesel than make the journey by train. How does that make sense? Also kerosene heating oil has trippled in price in the last month, apparently because "there is less tax" applied to it, so maybe careful what you wish for! Here's some petrol going the wrong way out the carb
