Hey everyone, track application for RR Weekender 2022 - Powered By R-Tech Welding is now open!

Slight changes this year:

SATURDAY - SPRINTS
Hit the track at the legendary Goodwood circuit for our point to point sprints. We're looking for pre-2000-ish cars, happy for full track weapons all the way through to your daily driver, from the experienced to the first time on track. If you've ever wanted to have a go on track, this is your chance to do it in a safe way. We take in applications for two weeks and then short list to ensure a diverse range of entries.

We have TWO formats for the Saturday sprint running this year:

MORNING - POWER LAPS: Full track sprint as we've done in previous years, from pits all the way around the track and back.

AFTERNOON - SUPER SPRINT: Utilising part of Goodwood in clockwise and anti-clockwise configuration, a unique new way of getting out on track at Goodwood.

SUNDAY - AUTO SOLO
Our awesome Auto solo returns on Sunday, one of the most enjoyable ways to get some action with your car, where a firebreathing race car doesn't mean you are the quickest. We're looking for pre-2000-ish cars again with a whole range of cars suitable for the auto solo. This is a great way to get on track and have fun with your car. We take in applications for two weeks and then short list to ensure a diverse range of entries.

I've already broken one car today so may as well ask a quick question if I may.

What are the costs? It's not a Round Britain Reliability Run year so thinking of the auto test.

Also, potentially thinking of letting someone else drive the car so would two slots (and tickets) be needed if selected or is a pit lane (car park) swap allowed? She's raced Caterhams before so I think she can handle the Herald!

Sorry I was wrong Accept emails went out yesterday and Reserve emails went out today

If anyone did apply and hasn't got an email then it's possible that they wrote their email wrong on the application page (it does happen)

A lot of people clearly cottoned on to the fact the power laps were a very affordable way of doing some very rare full laps of Goodwood, even if it is only 2 laps at a time! Fingers crossed for a last minute reserve slot as last year's sessions were just awesome fun.

Correct on all points - to do Goodwood as part of a Motorclub competition Sprint event with effectively the same track time would be three times the cost

Oh it was really hard this year to choose - lots of really good cars and very few post 2000 attempting to sneak in

So being totally honest these are the main considerations I apply during selection

1. Representative of Retro-Rides

Trying to sneak obviously post 2000 cars with pictures of only side view doesn't normally get past me

2. Is the car already over represented (Normally a problem when an Owners club or forum apply en mass for slots)

No one wants to see a track activity filled with MX-5's or Hillman Imps as much as I like both I like to see a lot of variety

3. Has the person has done it before

Uploading a picture of your car on track at Goodwood and putting in the comments had a great time last year makes it a bit easy for me

There is another upside for me with the last one........

When I do get a drop out it's normally those that have done it before and been pushed to reserve that I call on first - mainly because it solves my problem quickly - they know exactly what is expected pay promptly and I don't get 30 questions about the event format that I need to answer before they decide they do want the slot - It gets a bit busier every day running up to the event and I have less and less time to spare.

I haven't had an email with the link, just checking I haven't missed it

It was in the first email you would have got offering you a space and with the link to ticketing/payment

here it is again for anyone else that missed it

Once you have paid for your track time plus any day tickets if required please follow the link below - Goodwood have an on-line "Disclaimer/Registration Form"

This will minimise the requirement for completion of disclaimers on the day

All drivers and passengers must complete this before the day of the event

Good news is if you are doing any track activity Power laps, Super Sprint (Saturday) or Autosolo (Sunday) or even being a passenger you only need to complete it once
