The eye hitch should come off with a bit of force, but they are often very hard to get moving after years of being bolted together. The ball hitch you have is for fitting to a square drawbar on an unbraked trailer. It’s a lightweight pressed item designed for one of those 750kg biscuit tins on wheels you see pensioners take stuff to the top in; it’s really not suitable at all for a heavier braked trailer, even though it’s entirely possible to fabricate something to “square the circle”. You would be better off looking for a cast one IMHO. Or in the case of this pensioner, on an A frame to tow his 680 kg race car to the track...

Thanks Jimi , i wonder if it has healing properties , the old names for plants are sometimes connected with their effects on the human body ? You made me curious, so I looked it up, looks like your spot on I found this on a UK website

Good question FB , in this case no imma keeping it, it's a bigger size than any of my other spanners at 29mm , no idea what it really is ,probably 1" and 78/150ths whitworth .
Would that be the Pre or Post War Whitworth sizing Sir? Close to the Pre War 5/8" or Post War 3/4" depending on how accurate your guessimeter was.

Nice work there! Don't suppose you'd consider selling the big spanner nearest the camera in the top pic? I like collecting old spanners I might have something you’d be interested in. I’m away until the weekend, but I’ll have a root about for you when I get home.

"Selfheal is a perennial wildflower providing good groundcover. Member of the Mint family. Purple-violet flowers. Meadow plant. Flowers May to September. Height about 1 – 2 ft (30 – 60 cm). Also found in scrub, grasslands and wood clearings. The plant’s name comes from the medieval German “brunella”, derived from “die bruen” – an affliction of the mouth for which this plant was a remedy. The plant was thought to resemble a throat so, therefore, it followed that it should be used for treating throat problems. Folk lore tells us that it should be gathered when the Dog Star is rising.
It used to be believed that Self-heal was a holy herb sent by God to cure all kinds of diseases, both of man and beast. It is said to drive away the devil. Some native American Indian tribes made a tea from the roots, which they drank before hunting to help sharpen their observational powers.
Chinese medicinal herb used for disorders of the liver. Called xu ku cao in Chinese herbalism and is still widely used there to treat conjunctivitis, swollen neck glands and mastitis. Used for treating wounds, cuts and bruises. It can be used in salads and stews and a drink can be made from the leaves. Has anti-bacterial properties. Can be used externally for sores, burns and piles. Research has shown that Self-heal can help to lower blood pressure and has antibiotic effects on some organisms causing enteritis and urinary infections, and hard to heal wounds. Used in homeopathy for colitis. Crushed leaves can be made into a poultice for wounds."
Wow. The garden that keeps on giving !

Ah good , pictures are working again , Thats the old barn door reused , and we quickly utilised some of the wood i brought up from oxon for the other door .. A bit more weatherproof , much needed bearing in mind the gales that sweep through here , last week a local stn was measuring 64 mph ,and it's only august Since it was all looking a bit tidier , i thought i would clear away the concrete we dug out .. Being not sure where to put it , and thinking it may be usefull hard core at some point,i dumped it round the corner , it'll stabilise the summer house too .. That looks better .. Next it ws the earth clumps i had dug out for the drainage ditch .. Hoofed them across the field into the nettle bank . Then realised i had forgotten these ones .. So in they went .. Thats a job i had been putting off, done at last , generally much neater , and this provoked a day of strimming and mowing yesterday .. I have adjusted the little wheels on the mower deck to touch the ground and keep the deck level , and it's drastically reduced the 'axe attack' lawn syndrome . Noice . In other news , i found this 300 kg digital meter for 17 quid , so another weighing of the engine/black hole will occur soon . i moved the dyno into place for the telehoist , and remembered that The dyno console light bulb got broken in the moving drama , and i'm stuck trying to find one .It's a incandescent tube light , with right angled connectors , but got so smashed there's no numbers to look up .. looks like this .. any pointers greatfully recieved MEANWHILE ... I had a converation with Gabby the other day, about minimalist art , and she decided she was going to add it to her general posing catalogue, i was working in the garden when she tuned in to our subliminal radio frequency and ,puttting on a faux french ingenue accent , whispered to me.. "owe izz zeess robberrrr ?" I looked up and saw this ... i communicated back , "Ten out of Ten Gabby" . She purred . lastly , a odd sunset , looking south . regards robert

good morning ! well , for those of you that have suffered through my farm experience with me , you may be thinking , oh thank goodness all the general rubbish has been cleared up .no more of that malarky ! er... No. for some reason best known to my therapist , i decided to investigate in here yesterday .. this the luxurious two berth geogian /victorian pig sty . In this picture you can see i have already battled my way through the left hand day room , and am now about to attack the reast of it with shears and strimmer . WELL ! ...what did you find robert?? i hear you all yell at the screen , stamping your feets and gripping the twisted oak arms of your tudor gold velvet smoking chairs ! ! Well , what didn't i find is more like it ....a more eclectic array of gubbins (hello celia) i would be hard put to find and thats no mistake , have a butchers at this lot .. firstly, we'll start slowly, with the usual gas cylinder ,which if you look at this picture again ,you can see sulking in the foreground ,which, having been covered with 6 ft of brambles, was not happy to be exposed to daylight all of a sudden , next a couple of wierd sized 135 80 x 15 tyres , brand new .. a bench mount wood lathe .. a battery .. green 6ft tarp thing .. it all became a bit of a blur at this point, what with sweat filling my glasses like a pair of little swimming pools , but i think i was now into the left hand bedroom chamber ,.. where i found more oddnessnosity ... couple of wheels.. treadplate .. tins of stuff.. threaded rod ..M12.. weedkiller sprayer .. vacuum .. nother battery .. third new tyre ,same size .. bucket of table lamps and wall ties .. car seat and rotten plastic shelves .. toy vehicles ... an axle .. another axle .. wet /dry vac .. copper pipe .. an interesting special tool that was in a rotten wooden box .. and that was the two bedrooms cleared .. what a shemozzle .. of course the front right hand day room was full of the compulsory slates, bricks, and tiles ... i do quite like the table lamps .. i am guessing the axles with electric motors , and the batteries came from powered golf caddies ? anyrdup , a trip to the tip awaits . regards robert

As an avid collector of old junk myself, and surprising as it may seem, I have to say that I would be having a massive weigh-in session with 90%+ of that lot. 🤣

The Tonka toys might actually be worth listing on eBay.
