Just seen a random viral video on instagram. Think it was indian. But the guy uses a tool to seperate a balljoint and it is so simple, I want one. Just don't know what it might be called.
Its basically a long thin threaded tube (like a deep socket) with a flat sealed end.
You remove the nut, thread on the "socket" then strike the end, simple.
Obviously its hardened steel.
Any help?

No sorry. I'm trying to upload a video but cant. This is a long thin socket with a thread inside. It basicall replaces the balljoint nut that you remove

Whilst it's an interesting concept I'd maybe not screenshot your camera roll next time

Why not just pop them apart with two big hammers?***
put one against the body where the joint fits, and give the opposite side a hefty clout with the other hammer. That effortlessly splits balljoints that have been holding the car up for 40 years.
The best way of breaking taper is to flex the joint, not force it apart.
**** Unless the parts are aluminium.

How the hell do you post a video? Has to be hosted off site, for example, YouTube. Then you can use the video embed tool.

Just turn the steering a bit for a straighter shot and bray it in the direction of arrow with a lump hammer.

Just turn the steering a bit for a straighter shot and bray it in the direction of arrow with a lump hammer. Yup, it is literally why that lump is there.
