I'm not in any rush as I'm hoping to take it straight to the next job*** and not have to keep manhandling it in and out of the car/house. *** but she's a disorganised nightmare with no sense of time, urgency or how to get things done Cool. Thank you Nick for the use of your welder. Looks like Scruffy may stay in the RR’s fold. Craigs son’s 51-Plate Audi A4 wagon has attracted a potentially hefty pre-MOT bill, (sounds like a garage that likes to make a penny or two) so he wants the Micra as a backup, and then to act as the son’s girlfriends car. Also a guy from Brighton (has racing Micra’s in his profile pics on FB said he was very interested. Lets see what happens tomorrow afternoon when craigrk gets here to deliver me an interesting 1994 vintage parcel followed by a visit to a former “deleted member” to purchase some engineering shelving units and hopefully have dinner and sleep over here. Say hello to Deleted for me. 👍 I will certainly pass on your greetings Hopefully we get offered a bad mug of tea, or a decent coffee, the man makes good coffee. Craig sent a pic this morning at 06.00 when he was about to leave after filling his tow vehicle. Yesterday he ran 40 miles into Wales to collect this little “gift” and 210 miles coming down to me today, then 35 to load a bunch of industrial shelving, back here again…… followed by a Turkish dinner tonight and headed home early tomorrow morning. That is a bit of a trip.

So on Saturday craigrk delivered this……. forum.retro-rides.org/thread/223324/spears-reapers-1994-tractor-hopemobileIt used to run and drive, but certainly does not now. And we visited “Deleted Member” to load a bunch of stuff for his workshop, then returned to play with the Hopemobile for a bit before heading out for dinner with Sally. While doing stuff, he took the Micra for a drive, up to the farm and then a bit further afield to get a feel for it. Commenting that it felt really tight, for a car of its age. In the end he decided to buy it for his son as a temporary car, but also as a family runaround. So now it is awaiting collection up the alley. I am still tempted to carry on with it and doing the lace roof, if he says it is OK. Kinda getting it out my system, or is it into it.

Or do a full custom paintjob on the tractor ; panels, lace, candy colours, pinstriping, metalflake vinyl seat cover, chain link wheel, billet knobs on all the levers, glue a random toolbox on somewhere, etc. You know, the usual stuff

One is here. The other is here…… Road tripping the S10 on Sunday. Picking up Craigs sone on the way back to collect the Micra. Amazing how two cars of the same age can differ so much. And both put a grin on your face for different reasons. Certainly opposite sides of the spectrum on many levels.

Looking forward to the trip tomorrow Picking up Craigs son on the return leg along the way to collect the Micra, which I drove again this afternoon, it is a great little car. Rain forecast for the whole day, but it should all be fun. Made up.a couple of ramps earlier, including a pair of stops against the tailgate side for when you shove the dead weight of the tractor up there. Rather than have the ramps run away from me. Tie down straps are also in the truck and some bits of padding. I trust it is all good to go. Off to dinner with friends first, and then hopefully to bead early for an early start.
