Oooh, nice moto. Is that a (heavily modified) KTM 950 SM/SMR? Or is it a Super Enduro? Totally custom build 990 SD engine backdated to carb’s modified frame, cut steering neck, ft & rr suspension from SR600 Vertemati Geometry as close as possible to the Vertemati 143kg 115 BHP wow that’s light i bet that’s a wheelie machine i love a v-twin , i have a few aprilias to play with

Not only is it a £3K difference but due to the limited offset availability you have to design your suspension from the wheels back! At both ends of the car this can create problems but more so at the rear where the original Ferrari package was quite compact - Throw a modern transverse set up in the mix and it all gets a bit compromised with very short driveshafts and potential issues with CV angles . Original cars had a nice central diff and equal length shafts Modern iterations with current engines wanting to use the big neg offset wheels, but still not original offsets, start getting compromised on driveshafts. Conveniently painted red to show just how short the driveshaft can end up. Yellow car above with Supercharged Toyota 3.5L Exige derived motor and trans - Circa 400BHP - Which I understand is for sale at around £120K More competition orientated replicas went to more modern positive offsets to increase the driveshaft length to get more articulation. Hence my custom ordered Minilites will not have the matching Back Spacing of the original wheels ie so I will have longer CV Shafts that most the normal Alfa powered cars, if I later choose to go with Pirelli or Michelin TB I will have to go 3 piece to get the back spacing spot on to run 305/35R15 I think the benefit of a older design P7 Corsa 305 V a current AR1 275 is negligible in grand scheme of things But just adds to looks like an original car One major issue for me anyway of all the normal LB Hawks running either 16 or 17 o/d rear wheels with std Alfa gearing is that they completely loose the essence of the original car with the ridiculous tall gearing. Most of the time depending on event the Grp 4 Stratos geared to top out between 105 - 125 mph in 5th, at least the Alfa offers a 6th gear to aid cruise situations Hence another reason to stay with smaller O/D 15” Tyres

I spent quite a bit of time looking at the AR's until I found the Advan HF which I saw as a reasonable compromise - I am at ET-13's on my 10" minilites but visually they are likely to be the same as yours I just have a much deeper hub - I went for 7" fronts as I needed a positive offset which the the 8's could not offer and went with 205's - gearing wise I am stuck with executive cruiser ratio's. The 17" Coffins just look a little to "Restomod" which in other words means that I am too tight to pay for the oversize rotors to fill the space. My tiny 10" rotors do not look too lost inside a 15"

New Tool Milwaukee 12V Fuel Nibbler Love it however it chomps through 2.0mm aluminum so fast I wish it had a hand variable speed trigger rather than on multiple speed or auto Learned to play safe rough out close to line then finish with good old Pro-Snips Going to be so valuable on the Stratos

....As you see Minilites arrived,.... And that lovely offset on the 8" fronts confirms why I had to opt for 7's. There was no way that I could get them inside the arches of the Litton.

Wish there was 215 in the AR1 that was slightly smaller O/D than the 225/45 If I had choose the Pirelli P7 Corsa there front Tyre is 235/45R15, Michelin TB5 only list 225/50 It’s good I can build the car for the Tyres !!

Front tyre wheel combination does look good, well I am happy. Overall diameter is a hair smaller than manufacturer tyre dimension chart It would be nice if the rears are slightly taller, will have to wait and see Gave up on Fiat door striker, machined a pair of these, more compact, now I have holes to patch fill repair

New toy arrived yesterday Metz Tools Shrinker / Stretcher on sale for £99 a bargain The Tail canopy from John Cross is missing the roof section behind the rear window as his car is running a RS200 type roof intercooler I will make a section in aluminum to replicate the missing part then use the piece as a mold to make Carbon Kevlar piece to bond in I will have a lot of work on the rear tail as I need remove the ugly wheel arch section and laminate in the round Grp4 arches This will all have to wait until the chassis is a roller A long way off.

Nothing new at the moment a few life cr- -y stuff getting in the way then my daily work van went kaput Bought at snap decision a C30 R design Volvo as a replacement, what a nice car. Since I have Mega Supermoto that is currently off the road for updates I bought something totally different to ride around on, something I’d never thought I would buy !!!! 99 Yamaha Vmax 1200 Carbon Edition with 4300 miles. Of course I had then to deal with lack of use issues contaminated fuel, clogged carbs, rusty petrol tank Couple weeks later it’s pretty much done So you purchase a bike and the weather turns nautical Off to warmer climates for a week then I’ll be back on the Stratos
