Hello and welcome to the ad for this 1998 Jaguar. I am unsure if I really want to sell at the moment so this advert is being placed to gauge interest.
The car comes with a lot of paperwork and has 123,000 miles on it. It is in regular use so this will climb slightly. It has had quite a bit of work carried out before and during my ownership including timing chain tensioners, thermostat, new lambda sensor (passenger side), neutral safety switch and maf sensor. The car has a matching set of 4 good tyres (I believe pirelli). The body and paintwork are very good on this car. It is an old car now and so there are imperfections if you look hard enough but for its age, it really looks the part.
However, being a 25 year old jaguar, it is not perfect and there are a few issues which are well documented in another thread I have created. The car has an intermittent issue where it will stumble and stall when coming to a stop. Drivability when on the move is good and this is only an issue in stop start traffic when the car is not yet warmed up. The only other issues I am aware of are a slightly saggy headliner and the radio drains the battery so I've pulled the fuse.
The car benefits from a full years MOT and the only advisory it had was a small piece of welding needed on the inner wing. It is a fundamentally solid example of an XJ8 sovereign. These are going up in value and this will be a very well sorted example once the intermittent RPM drop, welding and other ancillary bits are taken care of.
I think it is priced fairly against similar examples in light of the work needed but would also consider swaps for a 6 cylinder x300 or XJ40.
Pics to follow.
