Is it just me, of has EBay got even worse recentl for Knock off kit,
this week I decided to rewire some bits on my Toledo, the wiring at one time been too close to the exhaust turning the wires crispy......so I spliced in some extra cable, come to fit a new Lucas alternator plug, my box of bits failed to supply the right angle terminals I needed,
So off to EBay, found a "LUCAS" plug and surround, when that arrived I thought it was a bit odd as I thought the plugs were normally white, try crimping the terminals and they deform into the side of my crimps and kill the terminal, The pliers are quite old are old, so, I assumed they must be worn out., I searched and found the required crimpers, not a cheap item, bought another plug and terminal kit, paid extra for next day, started assembly again, and the same problem offers with the spade pushing down the side of the pliers, bumhats, measured the thickness of the original triumph plug and the metal is considerably thicker. OK I know what to do is find a genuine LUCAS boxed set, and pay the premium, turned up, same black nasty plug, same Shonky thickness, even found a small makers marks on the terminal. and its the same as the others, even with the Lucas box, WTF..... I'm now rather peeved, spent the wrong side of £40 buying pliers I did not need, and 3 sets of snide plug kits that are useless. Is it Just me??
