Found this mirror in the 1950s Lanchester LD10 donor car we're stripping down and I know it's not from the donor car.
I'm drawing a blank as to what it's from. I thought it might be early 70s Jaguar or Ford but nothing I'm finding looks anything like it. Shame the glass and the lens are missing, it's a pretty neat thing. 10mm socket for scale.
Can anyone out there identify it?

Can’t help with the mirror but it amused me that the 10mm socket has gone missing in the 2nd and 3rd photo 😂

Looks like it is from a convertible of some sort, as something with a fixed roof would not require an interior light in that location. However the mounts suggest a substantial header rail to the screen, which would rule out most open sportscars, so perhaps a larger drophead?
By the early '70s, most interior mirrors were black (whether plastic or painted), so my gut feeling is late '50s to maybe mid '60s? The lack of a dipping mechanism seems strange, as by the early '60s, most higher end stuff had that. Jags & many others used a Lucas dipping mirror - I acquired one from a scrap Jag Mk2 for my Amazon & a very worthwhile upgrade for night driving due to the number of 4x4s with high mounted headlights.
Wondering if it's an aftermarket item, whether an accessory upgrade ('60s Halfords type thing) or for stuff like Crayford convertible conversions?

Hi, Early Rover P6s did as well, but they were black and had a different header rail mounting.

I know Jaguar used similar in E Types and Mk2s The Jag ones are very different - E Type OTS is dipping, and also mounted from a chromed rod that runs from the dash to the top of the screen. E Type FHC & Mk2 both use a Lucas dipping unit (none have the integrated light) - there was also variant with a similar bullet nosed tip to the arm, but the rest is still very different from this. All the Lucas ones are clearly marked as such. IIRC, variants were also used on '60s Astons.

Going to tack some other finds on here too, see if folks can ID them. Some sort of grille emblem, missing the sticker/badge. Thought it might be 30s Morris or MG, but haven't found a match. Might be some generic tat, or from a pushbike even, I don't know. Bakelite wiper knob. Probably from something British and 40s/50s, it's not from the LD10 we found it in, those are a different style knob in the same brown bakelite. This chrome trim ring too, measures 55mm internal diameter and 69mm external diameter

Isn't the chrome ring from one of the lights / reflectors in your for sale thread?
The 'badge' looks more like the full radiator grille from a tinplate toy car.

The chrome ring is bigger than any of the lights/reflectors though I suspect it's from something along those lines.
Good call on the badge too, now you've said it I can see it too. If it's something like a Triang part it might be worth saving for a toy restorer, otherwise I'm guessing that one is bin fodder.

This chrome trim ring too, measures 55mm internal diameter and 69mm external diameter That trim ring looks remarkably similar to the type that holds the older Classic Mini and Land Rover indicator lenses in place vulgalourPics unashamedly stolen from the interwebs. I don't have one to hand but the dimensions sound pretty similar.

That would make sense, there was a broken classic Mini interior light in with everything.

Looks like this might actually be from a Daimler Consort, as seen here below.

Hi, Broadly speaking there are two sizes the smaller size as fitted to the likes of Fords, Rootes and similar and larger as fitted to Rovers and Jaguars. The smaller have 5/16" bolts and the larger 3/8" bolts. Can't really tell from the length unless you can get hold of parts catalogues with a reference section. Either keep it in stock or offer it for sale for shortening, if so measure it for length with the spline section at its mid point for its working length.
