I found this on Facebook and thought you guys would appreciate it. The advert reads.... Ford Escort Mk 2 1600 Sport Rotary Turbo - 200kw on wheels Leather interior Momo racing seats BMW front brake discs Upgraded brakes New start motor Papers in order and licence updated full respray, underneath of car painted gearbox recently reconditioned new diff. 250000rand For those not doing instant conversions in your head, that 268bhp at the wheels, and £10,600 seems value to me... I've got the guy's phone number if anyone is actually wanting to do a buy. Didn't think it was right to post it here though.

Nice. You could probably not build what is advertised for £10k I see an Alfa on a Bellville number plate in the background. Seems modified too. Paul Y nice colour The GP (Transvaal, Johannesburg area) registration on the Escort is older series so maybe car has had one owner a long time (not sure) That is a lot of clever work done and I would like to believe its to a decent standard.

Nice. You could probably not build what is advertised for £10k If thats a genuine Escort Sport then you'd do very well to buy a decent rolling shell for £10k let alone the rest of the parts. Same shell as a 1.3L 2 door but getting "Sport" on the docs ads a premium! Seems a bargain and a half compared to Mk2 Escort prices here.

An interesting choice of engine, and quite a cool one at that.
The value of that is great. Even with the shell out of the equation, in terms of sourcing a shell, the prep, paint and the rest would cost a bit to do now.
The seats ain't my bag but it looks good does the car.

An interesting choice of engine, and quite a cool one at that. I guess part of it is down to "work with what you have handy" - probably few Cossie motors down there. Maybe just because. Its "left field" and I like it

Interesting! I don't know if this is still around, a rotary Mk2 I saw in 2012:

I'm going to go out on a limb and say there is 100% a rotary powered Escort in New Zealand, they seem to have a bunch of Escorts and a whole lot of love for the rotary engine.
I little mission for myself later to give me something to think about that isn't this damn forum redirect issue.
