Just thinking out loud...
The older stuff had banded steels 'in period' and so look 'right'.
I wonder if the Transits you see knocking about on Land Rover steels or banded steels are a sort of side-shoot from the VW camper scene, which is an accessible off-shoot from the VW scene, and so has embraced the banded steel scene?
Or are banded steels just dropping out of fashion as Mondeos are at the bottom of the cheap chod trough?

Cheers for replies so far. I'm currently running an all black Mk3 mondeo and think it will look spot on with Bandies, it WILL have bandies, just seems odd there's non about. Most "scene" style cars get the treatment but Mondeo seems to miss any sort of modding other than Maccy D car park style 🤔
