A quote from the 20th birthday thread: Hi All, Long time no/little see! Great to see some old names posting in this. Haha Time flies, it really does, life gets in the way, back then there wasn't loads to compete for our attention. And how many of us still sit at actual computers at actual desks? So how do YOU visit RetroRides? HoTWire surely can see this from the background but other members might like to know have an interest in that too. Like me. And since some long time users like reanimation stated that they are not that often around, how often do You visit RR, no matter if You read only or write regularly?

I've been a habitual mobile phone visitor, and the main reason for that being my photos are on my phone, and nice and easy to upload on to here Occasionally use my mini PC if thats switched on, but that isn't very often

I haven't looked at it on a computer for years. Reckon I must check at least 10 times a day though, even just to kill the time having a P4P like I am doing now.

Forums seem better on a computer, but many things do. If I was logging on a lot it'd probably be a phone or tablet, proper posting would be easier on a computer for me.

99% of the time via a PC, at least weekly but sometimes more often if I have posted a topic or reply and it gets answered or quoted.
weekly viewing in general means theres a bit more to view.

Laptop only, can't stand using a phone to read forums! Absolutely agree, I never used my phone for a RR visit. Just don't feel comfortable with that microscreen. I usually read forums via desktop PC with a widescreen monitor, but while sitting on the sofa watching telly with my wife I occasionally use the tablet. btw. Thanks so far for contributing, I didn't expect so many written answers.

Mainly PC. I'll occasionally browse on my phone, mostly on the toilet , but typing on the phone is something I'll probably never like.

If I was more tech savvy and knew how to use the cloud storage everyone seems to bleat on about, I'd most likely use my PC more for updating on here. Never had any issues using this forum on my phone (other than the event we won't mention from recent times), but then again I've never used it in mobile mode. Always in desktop mode

I dip in and out a few times a day so generally use my phone as that’s what’s usually to hand. If I’m at home I’ll use the iPad, especially if I want to update a thread ( way, way overdue for the Sierra thread 😩) although sadly between the ads and the updates / glitches I can’t use the iPod touch anymore; the smaller screen means most of the usable screen is lost to the header and ads at the bottom 😂

But if I close the tab and open another, hey presto, I’m logged back in! A bit strange, and the only device at home that does it 🤔

It quite probably isn't logging you out, it may be using a cached page sonit makes you think your logged out. Is that on Safari ? Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies for Retro Rides ? I think Safari allows you to select which websites to clear cached data for.

With regards to the question, I browse RR as the following:
-Browse with the phone alot, but rarely reply (60-70%) -Type out on the PC (30-40%)
While phones are alot better for browsing, I still find it simpler and easier to do it on a PC.
This has become moreso, when going from an iPhone to a Pixel. I don't know why, but Google seems to have a hatred of a clipboard, and access album photos, which are alot simpler on the iPhone, thus easier to grab photos you have organised. Samsungs I understand are better here, and do have a clipboard function for copying pics
